cali ADR times & wishes?

I have read on these boards that it is best to book your ADR at Cali Grill about an hour and a half before wishes.

However, on the night we are looking to go that time is not available. Wishes is at 10 that night and there is one available at 9 or another at 7:45. Is 9 too late or should we book 7:45 to enjoy it leisurely?

I was thinking that if we went at 9 -- which is kinda late to be eating a big meal for us -- that we would get appetizers and desserts....that way we wouldn't spend as much either.

And do you have to go outside to see it? Does the whole restaurant empty out onto the outdoor patio to watch it? If that's the case, wouldn't it be better to go at 7:45 so that you're finished eating and can go out there to wait? Can you even go out there to wait? We are going in summer so it will be warm enough.

What do you guys recommend? As my signature states, I have two teens, my hubby and myself.

if you're seated at a table by the window, you can watch the fireworks just fine from your seat..thats what my bf and I did

at the time of Wishes, they dim the lights and put the Wishes music on..

a lot of the people stood up to watch or went out to the balcony..more of them just stood up though cause' it was 30 degrees that night

i am pretty sure you can go out to wait on the balcony for Wishes..

also; if you happen to have dinner really early like 6, you can even come back later on to watch Wishes on the balcony as long as you have your receipt

i had an ADR at 630pm..Wishes was at 8pm..we finished dinner in about 1 hour and 20 minutes so the timing was fine for us. I would do 9pm if I were you..you can go out to the balcony at 10, watch Wishes, and come back in for dessert!

There are not a lot of tables by the window and you're not guaranteed to get one, so I'd anticipate going outside to the observation deck to watch. You can even ask your server to hold the next course until after the show.

If you eat there earlier, keep your receipt and present it at the check-in desk and they will let you go up to watch the show from the observation deck. You must have a receipt from the same day.
