I want to do a Calendar this year. I say that every year but it never seems to happen. I think it is because I don't know where to start. I have Photoshop Elements so that would be an option. I also thought of doing the calendar at Wal-Mart. I started putting photos in a file that I thought I might use but that is all the farther I have gotten. Rather then just a single photo I thought maybe I should do a digital scrapbook page for each month. That would give me a bit of digi-scrap experience. So... What is your experience with making calendars?

Last year I made a number of calendars but I used traditional scrapping. Target had scrapping calendars on sale and i bought them. I had to fill in the dates on the bottom half. I used a patterned page and then added on a title, 2 photo mats, and a journaling bolock along with some embellishments. On one I filled in the photoi mats and journaling (for my grandmother battling dementia) but the others I left for them to add photos and journaling each month for the year.

I'm on my 3rd year making calendars. The first 2 years I made digital 8x10 layouts, portrait style and included the grid on there. Then I had them bound at Staples (well printed there too). I made enough for gifts for grands.

This year I am doing it different. I'm making 2 page calendars, where I will have a landscape 8x10 on top and the grid on the bottom page. I got a special coupon for this shape so it will save me a bunch of money.

You can see my 2007 & 2008 calendars here:

Fran, Your calendars are fantastic. Is the whole calendar 8X10 or just the photo area? I have a digital template that makes the whole calendar 8X10 with the photos on the top half and the calendar grid on the bottom. That would be easier for me but I kind of wanted to make the photo portion 8X10 and the grid also 8X10.

On the ones I have done previously, the whole page is 8x10 or 8.5x11 or whatever. I'm buying through artscow.com this year and they have 2 pages for their calendar which might be what you are looking for.

And I have a coupon for 6.99 each with free shipping, any quantity. I just got my Xmas photocards from them and they are great.
