I've been gone from Disboards so long my journal was erased!
So, it appears I learned a lesson there. Keep posting.
The fall was difficult for me and I had an opportunity to really re-evaluate a lot of stuff, so one thing I did not do was go online as much. Problems at work and in the family were difficult for me. I also decided to "experiement" with my health care with some herbal supplementation and that did not work. I also let my fitness and health focus slide quite a bit.
The good news is I am pretty much where I was weight wise when I last logged in. I had lost 19 lbs and I have gained four back (even after all the Christmas fun). So now it is time to come back to Wish and my focus on my health.
South Beach works for me and jogging worked for me in the past. Now it is winter here so I won't be jogging, but I can walk and I can do my other exercise at home. I also love T-Tapp, so I am going to be doing that again. I just "feel" better doing T-Tapp. I also need to get back to healthy eating!!!!
I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, which I am NOT looking forward to, but I need to go because I have been feeling lousy. I need to get back on my thyroid medication (hypothyroidism) and I think I need to get on blood pressure meds too. I just hate that, but I have been avoiding this too long. I have a home monitor and I am just too high. It is discouraging to me because I have lost 15 lbs and I have exercised more and I have modified my diet but I am still too high. (One good thing is caffeine is totally gone from my diet now) When I look at my children, 11,9,5,
I realize I need to work on being healthier for them! I am scared/embarrased to go to my doctor, but I need help in helping my health. This time it is for me and my family!
So -- back to South Beach (no cheating) tommorrow and my exercise plan (30 minutes a day 6x a week). I just need to get it through my thick skull that this is for life... no short term fixes.
