I've been gone from Disboards so long my journal was erased! :confused3 So, it appears I learned a lesson there. Keep posting.
The fall was difficult for me and I had an opportunity to really re-evaluate a lot of stuff, so one thing I did not do was go online as much. Problems at work and in the family were difficult for me. I also decided to "experiement" with my health care with some herbal supplementation and that did not work. I also let my fitness and health focus slide quite a bit. :guilty: The good news is I am pretty much where I was weight wise when I last logged in. I had lost 19 lbs and I have gained four back (even after all the Christmas fun). So now it is time to come back to Wish and my focus on my health.
South Beach works for me and jogging worked for me in the past. Now it is winter here so I won't be jogging, but I can walk and I can do my other exercise at home. I also love T-Tapp, so I am going to be doing that again. I just "feel" better doing T-Tapp. I also need to get back to healthy eating!!!!
I have a doctor's appointment on Monday, which I am NOT looking forward to, but I need to go because I have been feeling lousy. I need to get back on my thyroid medication (hypothyroidism) and I think I need to get on blood pressure meds too. I just hate that, but I have been avoiding this too long. I have a home monitor and I am just too high. It is discouraging to me because I have lost 15 lbs and I have exercised more and I have modified my diet but I am still too high. (One good thing is caffeine is totally gone from my diet now) When I look at my children, 11,9,5, :grouphug: I realize I need to work on being healthier for them! I am scared/embarrased to go to my doctor, but I need help in helping my health. This time it is for me and my family!
So -- back to South Beach (no cheating) tommorrow and my exercise plan (30 minutes a day 6x a week). I just need to get it through my thick skull that this is for life... no short term fixes.

I did do South Beach! Yeah! But my DSs both got the stomach flu so we spent all afternoon/night dealing with that and I did not get my exercise in! I did not sleep well at all last night with DS5 next to me. I hope I don't get the flu! I already feel sick just thinking about it!
 
The boys are better. I don't feel great, but I did do T-Tapp this morning which made me feel good. Tonight on the exercise bike for an easy ride! Sticking with South Beach. The scale says I am down 2 lbs :cool1:
 

DD came down with the flu on Sat night. I feel like all I have been doing is laundry and taking showers/baths to get rid of bugs!!!! I have been using the exercise bike, which feels good. It is so doable to ride for 30 minutes as I watch tv. South Beach is going well with a few slip ups, so may stay on Phase 1 a bit longer. My weight is better, which I am pleased about, now I just have to keep it going DOWN! Going to the doc today. Not looking forward to that, but I need to go.
 
Good visit at the doctor's office. I weighed on her scale and am about 3 lbs up from where I am at home, but maybe that was just because of the different time of day too.
Back on my thyroid meds full time. My BP was up, but it went down while sitting there talking to her. She wants to do some diagnostic work before putting me on meds so that will be good. I feel so much better after being there. Strange... I always dread going to the doctor, but I was honest about my fears and showed her my home bp recordings chart and I just feel we are on an even page now at least. I guess I am no longer in denial. However, I still feel I can make the lifestyle changes which might make the difference for me, so I am working on that. I KNOW losing weight would help my BP.
