I'm sorry I'm not sure if I'm doing this right.

I'm trying to get an estimate of how much it would be so that I can try and convince my hubby to book a trip August 1st.

I am looking at booking November 11th (FD) at All star Music. It is me, my husband, DD (4) and DD (2) I want to book the FD, and 7 day base tickets.

Can someone please tell me approximately how much it would be for a 6 night at All Star Music with 7 day base tickets, with free dining? And how much it would be for 7 nights at All star music with 8 day base tickets?

Thank you so much. I tried to figure this out myself, but having no luck.

All you need to do is go to the booking site and enter your package room and ticket options. Do not add any dining. That will give you the total amount of your trip with the free QSDP. If you want to upgrade to the regular DDP, just take your given total and add $19 per night per adult, and $4 per night for your 4 year old. The 2 year old will not have a dining plan since she does not require a ticket.

All you need to do is go to the Disney reservation page and put in your dates with the type of tickets you want at the resort you want. Since dining is free and you are paying rack rate for the room and tickets, it will show you the exact amount.

The additional does get charged tax.

To properly do it, you need to do the following assuming a VALUE resort that gets Quick Service Dining Plan for free:

A) Package without dining
B) Package with QSDP (quick service dining plan)
C) Package with DDP (basic dining plan)

Now let's remember math!

D = C - B
E = A + D

Free Dining QSDP = A (package without dining)
Free Dining DDP = E (package without dining plus the difference between)

Hope this makes sense even if you hate math. And if you do, ask your kids :)

For a moderate or deluxe, simply price a package without dining and you get basic dining plan. You can apply the above to price out deluxe dining. Note that in years past, platinum was not an option to upgrade if using free dining.

The additional what gets charged tax? The approx. upgrade costs I mentioned included tax already. It is actually a bit under the amounts, but just by a bit.

For the 6 night stay, I got

A) $1680.87 (no plan)
B) $2251.55 (paid QSDP)
C) $2498.07 (paid DDP)

Using the amount with no plan and adding $19 per adult per night and $4 for the one child per night, the total is $1932.87. Using your formula it is $1927.39. Granted, my amount is a couple of bucks more since the upgrade amounts are estimates, but it is a whole lot less math! I hope we are not confusing the OP! :rotfl:
