The next morning, since we did not have any meetings or appointments scheduled, we were able to sleep in a bit.
So, naturally, I woke up super-early again.
While we were heading out of POFQ, DF stopped at the ATM, so I took a couple of pictures around the lobby.
The CM's had a pumpkin decorating contest it seemed. And yes, I am apparently incapable of sleeping until sunrise.
This morning we were going to one of DFs most-favorite breakfast places in Disney, Boma! We debated doing the bus do-si-do over to AKL, but decided that a cab would just be easier, and got to AKL way earlier than I had thought we would.
Boma wasnt even open yet when we arrived (Id say it was around 7 AM), and so we hung out in the gorgeous lobby for a bit.
...and then it was time to eat!
My first plate:
The French toast bread pudding (in the bowl) was amazing, sweet and spiced. The goat cheese eggs were extra cheesy that morning. The bobotie was very good, if a little bit dry. The macadamia banana muffin was nice and moist. The breakfast potatoes were really good and flavorful. The asparagus was just that, asparagus.
DF's first trip to the buffet:
DF: I really liked the pap and chakalaka, it was like grits and salsa for an American palette. The pap was nice and creamy, and the chakalaka that goes in it had a nice spice and heat. I liked the bobotie better this time (than our previous trip), it wasn't as dry. The goat cheese eggs had a bit too much cheese for me, actually. The banana bread was delicious, perfectly moist. The French toast bread pudding was wonderful, and made sweeter and even more delicious with the pecan praline syrup...it was a good way to start your morning!
My next plate:
The turkey was good, a little dry ("
THE TURKEY'S A LITTLE DRY!!"). The pap and chakalaka was not bad, but not really my taste first thing in the day. The African fruit salad was good, nice and sweet. I enjoyed the banana bread, but the chocolate pastry was very dry.
...and DF's next plate:
DF: The regular scrambled eggs were good, and the asparagus was good, grilled with a crunch still. The ham was delicious, but the turkey was a bit dry - when I added the mustard and sambal (spicy tomato sauce), it helped, but it was still dry. The fruit salad was delicious, and the apples added a different texture to the mix. I preferred the turkey bobotie to the regular bobotie, it was a little more moist. The sausage was good, a better quality that what I usually find at other Disney restaurants. The pecan sticky bun was delicious, Boma's pastries are the best restaurant pastries on property, in my opinion. The potatoes were really good, they had a Southwestern-like dry rub on them, and were crisp on the outside and tender on the inside.
The view from our table:
When we were finishing our plates, our server came by and brought us a sweet celebratory treat.
The jelly pyramid was papaya-flavored, and was really nice and sweet. The apple fritter was good, DF's preferred item on the plate, very cinnamony. The truffle was delicious, and was very creamy inside. The macaron was great too, and was pistachio flavored.

Overall, we had a wonderful breakfast at Boma, and will absolutely return on future trips!
After breakfast, we headed over to the bus stops, and hopped on a bus that was DHS-bound. We observed that we were probably the only people heading to DHS at before-rope-drop-o-clock that werent trying to race to TSM (
I had had a less-than-enjoyable experience on our last trip when we rode, when I had had no idea that the ride spun and tossed you around like it does), but theres still plenty of fun stuff for us to enjoy there!
The park was already letting people in by the time we got there, and it was barely even populated by that point. The few people we did see around were running towards TSM, as we had predicted, or Sunset Blvd towards the thrill rides.
Why dont we walk down the Pixar street now, while it isnt packed? I suggested, and we headed in that direction, en route to the Muppets.
We strolled along, and passed the wait time for Toy Story Mania, which was only 10 minutes at that point. I pointed it out to DF, how low that wait time still was.
It was a fun ride, even though it spun around a bit more than I had thought he commented, with more than a bit of interest.
Wait, do you want to ride it? I stopped right outside the entrance.
Only if you want to, we dont have to
Lets go, I figured I knew what would be coming a bit better this time, and would be better prepared to brace myself when the car spun around.
We entered the queue, and we pretty much walked through the entire thing until just past Mr. Potato Head. I tried to take a few pictures as we went through, everything there is so fun and colorful.
until I got the dreaded message on my camera screen.
HOW CAN MY MEMORY CARD BE FULL????? Ill admit, yes, I was that person freaking out in the TSM queue. A quick look through my camera showed that I had accidentally been taking all of my photos on the huge, billboard-size setting, and there was no way to mass-convert everything I already had on the card to a smaller size. I frantically tried to delete photos, but I wasnt able to clear that much space, only enough for a handful more photos for the remaining 2 days of the trip.
(And no, of course I didnt have a larger memory card with me. DF already bought me one for our next trip though!)
(From this point on, the photos are a mix of ones taken by my camera and phone. So Mary Ellen, youll be able to see a good percentage of them now!)
We went through the rest of the queue (me, trying to fix my camera; DF trying to get me to keep moving and stop holding up the line), and hopped on the ride
.where, knowing what to expect, we had a great time!
In the end, yes DF won, but for a while there, I was actually winning! (I never ever ever ever EVER win at these types of games, so I actually was bragging after the ride that I was briefly winning.)
(Hey, Ill take my small victories where I can get them!)
After my near-win on TSM, I can only assume that we briefly visited our usual favorites at DHS (Muppets are a safe guess), before heading out of the park.
One last picture from DHS:
