I cant decide on my cake, im having the standard cake disney supply for intimate weddings but there are lots of flavours to choose from. In the UK we normally only have fruit cake or sponge with buttercream and jam filling, so im a bit unsure what the 'mousse' fillings taste like. Also what is marble, is it chocolate and yellow sponge mixed?
I know its a bit strange but i dont suppose anyone took photos of the inside of there cakes so i could get an idea of what they look like.

Mousse is a kind of fluffy filling. Not quite as dense as buttercream. I have had the mousse filling on a disney cruise line birthday cake that I ordered for my dh bday. I would assume it is the same. By marble I think you are correct. I think its a mix of 2 kinds of cake, but some other girls might be able to confirm.

You can't go wrong with mousse filling! :rotfl: Seriously, any one of the flavors is going to taste great! And if you would rather have a jam filling, or a traditional fruit cake, I bet they could make it for you. :) :cutie:

Don't have any pictures of the inside of my cake, but the mousse filling we had was delicious!! Its such a great texture and flavor!!

You can also have chocolate....we had white cake with a layer of white chocolate & a layer of rasberry filling, it was delicious.

I've just read on here someone is having the top of their cake one flavour and the bottom another, i asked my wedding co-ordinator last week if this was possible and she said no its all one flavour, so who is right?

maybe its only available on the custom cakes?!?

I'm not that far on in my planning, I dont even have a planenr yet so I dont know for sure

Hi

I am having an Intimate and I am having two different flavours. Marble and buttercream for the bottom layer and Almond and amaretto for the top. I asked Tanis my co ordinator and she said it was fine.

Hi Caitlin
I think it was one of your threads i read it on, my co-ordinator is julianna but it was her assistant michelle who told me i had to have one flavour for all of it. Maybe next time i speak to julianna i'll ask again or if not just try putting it on my planning form. My fiance cant believe im getting so stressed about a cake, its just theres so many decisions to make and he's leaving it all me to.

My coordinator is julianna (im intimate as well) and she is allowing us to do two different flavors for each layer. My top is strawberry mouse with chocolate shavings and my bottom layer is raspberry mousse with chocolate shavings!

I know what you mean. I have made the majority of the decisions myself. Right now I'm looking for our wedding rings, talk about stress!

I actually do have a picture of the inside of my cake at home. I'll try to upload it tonight.

We had the marble cake with raspberry mousse. Yes, marble is chocolate and vanilla swirled together. The raspberry mousse is delicious!! Light and fluffy (no raspberry seeds), not too sweet. We had the top layer on our first anniversary, and even after being frozen for 1 year it was still incredible tasting :goodvibes

Thanks jasnal, i think i will speak to Julianna again.
Caitlin, i've decided on my photographer and officiant now, but still need to decide on my colour theme, i haven't got my dress yet or the bridemaids, still need to choose cake, flowers, music, rings, decide on my ADR's and plan a reception at home. My head is spinning at the moment i wake up in the night thinking about the wedding, im so stressed, and all he says is "have whatever you want darling" aarrggggg why am i marrying him lol

I have juliana as a coordinator too for my intimate wedding .. so thanks ladies.. I"m going to talk to her about getting two flavors of cake and frosting! mmm.

For my custom, we're having our reception outside, so we don't get to do mousse flavors because of the heat. So, we had to choose from jam and buttercream fillings. If you'd prefer to do that knowing what you're getting, it's definitley available.

...Because he says "Have whatever you want, darling"!!

;)

For my parents 25 wedding anniversary dinner I had Disney make a 2 tier cake for the dinner and I got Vanilla and Chocolate mousse.. It was AMAZING!!!

Not a pic of inside the cake but it is the cake tasting tray they bring you at your PS...maybe it will help!

All the flavours were soooo good! So you can't go wrong imo! It just depends if you like a stronger flavor or more subtle. The chocolates to me were very subtle (Itried the milk and the white) and not "chocolaty" enough for me all though I imagine the dark choc is rich by my dh2b does not looove choc. The tropical was so yummy and fresh but again he didn't love it.In the ened we pick both our favorites and the three layers will be:

!st: Almond cake w/ amaretto mousse and fresh strawberries
2nd- Choc cake w/ rasberry mousse and fresh rasberries
top: almond cake w/ Bailey mousse

O.K. here is a picture of the inside of our cake - I know this doesn't look very appetizing! This is kind of a long story :sad1: I neglected to have the bottom layer of our cake cut up and given to our guests :sad2: so we brought it to our room, had some that night, but the leftovers didn't fit in the mini fridge and by the morning it wasn't looking or smelling too good :scared: so we had to throw it out. Fortunately, the WL put the top layer in the freezer! I got a picture . . . despite how it kind of looks here, it was amazing tasting the day before! You can see how light the raspberry mouse is and kind of see the marble cake.

Let this be a lesson - cut it up, refrigerate it, or eat it - don't let your cake sit out all night!

Thanks for the pictures everyone, think im going to go for chocolate and buttercream for the bottom layer and vanilla/yellow sponge with strawberry mouse for the top. I dont think i will be able to freeze it as i am from the UK so i guess i'll just have to eat it all
