Hey everyone I am still doing some research on getting a cake for my wedding. I think I found out a really good baker that can do the cake that i want. She quoted $3 per slice. Is that good or should i keep looking? Thanks!

That's fantastic! None of Disney's are less than $7.50 per slice, and most are $10 or more!

My Disney wedding planner told me I couldn't bring in my own cake or any other food or beverages for that matter. Has anyone done it? I'd certainly rather not pay their prices!

Your planner was right. It has to do with health department regulations. They cannot serve food they have not prepared themselves.

I don’t know if different regions tend to have different pricing but I am an event coordinator in New England and typically cakes cost $3.50- $4.75 depending on how elaborate you want it and the type of filling. I'd say your quote sounds very reasonable!

This is true --- I wanted to bring in candy for a candy bar -- and that is not allowed, disney has to provide ALL food! :sad2:

That's outrageous! Disney Floral is crazy overpriced, too... From what I understand, the average at Disney is $300-400 for a bridal boquet of roses & tulips, yet that's $150-200 at almost any other florist.

True, but unlike food, you are allowed to hire an outside florist, as long as your wedding is not inside one of the theme parks. Although, my peony and rose bouquet is $275 by Disney Floral. I was expecting it to be a lot worse.

Like others said, there is no exception when it comes to cake/food.

Silverraindrop84... where is your wedding going to be?

Yeah sorry I'm having a beach wedding on the coast. I can't believe you have to use their florist too, but hey it's disney.

You only have to use their florist if you have an event inside a theme park.

However, I will add that while Disney may seem overpriced (heck, it's Disney, of course it's more expensive;) ) Disney Floral is AMAZING!!! They have consistently provided beautiful floral arrangements for brides, even ones who weren't quite sure what they wanted. Disney's floral designers are very talented and they know their stuff. They will work with you to keep your budget where you want it. They can offer suggestions of different flowers to reduce costs, etc.
