Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

Focus on Disney (auto correct) Santa is set up as an event, similar to afternoon tea. They want a head count 48 hours in advance. No sticker shock cancelations.

I get that. I don’t know the cancellation policy at V & A, but Monsieur Paul is $195 a person, also limited capacity. They have a 72 hour, $100 per person penalty cancellation policy. The entrees at CBS are chicken, beef & pasta, nothing that they don’t have in the restaurant already or that needs to be ordered weeks ahead. So you make that reservation for 6 weeks from now, your kid gets measles in 5 weeks ( yes, in 2025 it can happen). Everything else on you vacation can be cancelled/ changed/ refunded. But you lose hundreds to thousand dollars at CBS.

Please don’t think I don’t like CBS. We’ve been there on our last 3 trips. My husband, usually a fillet mignon eater, loves their strip steak/ frittes entree. I just refuse to book anything weeks in advance that costs several hundred dollars each & is totally nonrefundable. I can’t imagine doing it if I was traveling with kids.

Adding to focusondisney's cookie comment-

This what I just read about the cookie from the Cake Bake Shop website-

Santa has hand-selected this delightful cookie just for you to take home and assemble with your loved ones. Inside you'll find a handmade sugar cookie..."

Just reiterating that that there is NO "S" after cookie in the CBShop description.

Tax is not included per CBS-

*Kindly note, price does not include tax and gratuity. Full, non-refundable cost is required at time of reservation confirmation, including tax and 24% gratuity."

I wonder if they are auto-tipping on the tax?

Assuming availability you can wait and book 48 hours in advance.

CBS needs 48 hours to assemble the cookie kits.😀

Terms and pricing appeal to a select group of customers.

Call if you want additional cookies.

My township does a $5 breakfast with Santa. Pancakes, juice, milk and coffee or tea. Each kid gets to talk to Santa, they take a digital picture and kids walk away with a candy cane and stickers. Money goes to the food pantry and everyone walks away happy. That's money well spent.
While this sounds cute and noble, how much could you've possibly raised for the food pantry? $5000 with 1000 participants? If the goal is to help hungry people, isn't that amount a bit too small for such a huge event? Of course the money is well spent....for the participants. An entire breakfast with Santa for merely five dollars.

If the town people are so generous, wouldn't it be better for the pantry if they each donate $5 and all the supplies needed for the breakfast?

Or, maybe the town just want to have a fun & cheap event for the locals, and the best way to deduct more expenses is to add the Food Pantry in the mix.

Making breakfast with Santa affordable is a lovely thing to do.
The charity donation is very nice as well.
I can't imagine critiquing such a happy Christmas event.
Most food pantries have various drives and events all year long.

Really? You want to criticize and throw shade on a community event that costs the taxpayers nothing, brings people together and raises something for a food bank during the holidays when pantries tend to run low? FWIW, the community also raises money and other donations throughout the year, including turkey donations and canned goods at Thanksgiving and toiletries and baby supplies for the women's shelter. If an inexpensive community event brings the donations in, does it really matter how it is done?

We are local to the original locations and I looked up their pricing. Still $200 for adults, but only $135 for kids, lol! Looks identical otherwise. I love Disney and also enjoy Cake Bake, but this seems insane. I can be talked into paying a lot of money for fun experiences (hello, WDW), but this isn’t it for me personally.

Nope! I am not criticizing the event per se. Just saying that if the goal is to maximize the contributions to the Pantry (while showing your true altruistic spirit), then perhaps skip the food and donate those as well.

Umm...that's a criticism. And we're getting off topic for this thread so I'm going to refrain from responding further. The event is what it is. It raises money for the food pantry to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables, which are a rarity during the winter here. They need that more than pancake mix and syrup.

Many little ones love a breakfast with Santa event. I think it's nice that the town makes it affordable, and it includes a donation.
I see no need to wag a finger at sweet families enjoying an annual event.
Thankfully there is no either or here.
Food pantries have drives and events all year long to refill there shelves.
Now back to cake bake?

Go back a few months. Exact same discussion regarding high tea. Price. Prepay
Pretty much the same cancellation policy.

I think they should validate valet parking.

Most definitely; thought I was having a deja vu moment, lol.
I will say I was worried about my tea experience a tad beforehand but it was for naught. They clarified the” non refundable “ part and overall, it was an experience worth what I spent.
The grandkiddos are wondering when they can go again…..told em to ask their parents 😉

And yes, free parking with proof of reservation.

Well, the date that worked for me is fully booked per the email I just got from them. When I did the website date selection earlier today all of them said "wait list" so I'm guessing they all may be booked. Not really surprised at all.

I just got our confirmation email for November 25th. They are offering me 8:30, but I requested 6:30. She told me all other times and dates are booked. The invoice for four people (two adults and two kids) with tax and gratuity is $913.50….to be paid now. I have 24 hours to decide 😅.

We will more than likely pass. I just cannot imagine losing out on almost $1000 if something were to happen and we had to cancel. Plus, I am not thrilled with the entree options.

DOES the 👍 suggest a poster is ready to grab your slot?

I understand the feeling. Hesitantly booked Geo 82’s firework package for Thanksgiving and did that give me agita!
Still, I do enjoy the Luminous display.

Have fun whatever you choose to do.
