Cake Bake Shop at the BoardWalk is now open

Does the bakery sell iced coffees? I only see hot on the menu. Staying at Boardwalk and love my late afternoon iced coffee!

I’m looking into making a reservation for late April and was wondering if there is a timeframe when both breakfast and lunch overlap? From what I can tell, it looks like breakfast ends at 10:30 and lunch starts at 11:00….

I know this is an older comment, but just for reference. This will generally not be the case at any restaurant where you order a la carte off a menu or even family style places (basically anywhere you are served at a table). Buffets have to have a transition period where you sometimes get both, but if there is a menu or serving involved, there will be a hard switch over and sometimes even a short break in between services.

I used this coupon yesterday with no issues. This discount more than paid for the book.
That is great news! I, too, used it in January with no issues, but the server had to check with manager as she had never seen it before. And, yes, the discount was also more than I paid for the book! :earsboy:

And for the record, our visit to the restaurant was wonderful! The ambiance, of course, was gorgeous. The service was top notch. The food was delicious (chicken velvet soup with ham brie sandwich; chicken salad croissant with pommes frites; iced teas). The cake was something I've been dreaming about since I got home. We shared a slice of coconut cake, and it was so creamy and dreamy and good!

Just an FYI- I was already able to make a reservation for July through Open Table. It did require a cc guarantee but cancellationwas24 hours prior

Thanks for the menu reminder! The chicken velvet soup sounds so worthy.

I didn't even know they still made the Birnbaum guide! We have breakfast booked there next month so thanks for the tip.
Yes, I have a deep love and nostalgia for Birnbaum. And I think this was the first trip I used the coupons because they've never been for things I do, but they were an incredible deal and for so many things this time. Cake Bake discount was more than the book itself, but I also got a big discount at Arribas Brothers on Main Street. Enjoy! :earsboy:

Bought the Birnbaum ( that I’d never heard of before) used from Amazon and yes, there are a lot of useful coupons: CBS-20%, Raglan/Cooke’s-15%, Rainforest Cafe/T-Rex, etc. The cost of the book will certainly pay for itself with just the 20% off CBS.

Thanks for the heads up, @MickeyMouseLove et al

We used to get it before every trip when I was a kid. It was my introduction to the world of planning. Mom would take me to Waldenbooks at the mall and we'd pick it up and I'd go through it with a little highlighter! :rotfl2: Even then I was an A type and Mom trusted me with the planning.

Very happy to hear it's still around and still useful in this era of rapid changing, online info--the coupon thing is very smart of them. I'll definitely pick one up. It'll be a great nostalgia trip.

Can I ask the cost? I'm thinking of booking for our July trip.
The tea is fun but yes pricy. Took some family kids during the Christmas holidays and we enjoyed our time as well.

You’ll find the menu and price here:

Not sure if the Birnbaum coupon works for the tea but it does for the restaurant menu which is what we will sample next.

Have fun.

ETA: Just checked. Coupon is not valid for Afternoon Tea.

Ate at Cake Bake today for breakfast. I’ve eaten in the IN location twice before for lunch and wasn’t really a fan, but I’m pretty picky. The quiche was absolutely amazing. Very custardy with excellent flavor and crust. I absolutely loved the arugula side salad that came with it. I had waffles and asked for them with no glitter or buttercream. They were light and crispy and everything I adore about waffles. They weren’t super hot, which was my only issue. We tried the blueberry crumble coffee cake, and it was very tasty. However it was plated in the tin in which it was baked, which made it a little awkward to fork out (if that’s a term). We took a piece of the mint cake to go, and it was…decidedly mid. The cake was moist, which isn’t the easiest to do with chocolate cake, but it had zero chocolate flavor. The frosting barely tasted like mint. We couldn’t decide if the ganache in the layers had mint flavor, but it was decently tasty. We ate a bit and then pitched the rest. Definitely not worth the price, which is par for the course with my last few Cake Bake cake purchases in IN. We also had the Black Swan, which is a pretty good drink but not a good representation of an espresso martini, imo. The place was empty, and they still did the “we’ll text you when your table is ready”. Really? We were in a room completely by ourselves for 90% of our meal, and there were no more than 15-20 other people in the entire restaurant. The empty table next to us had crumbs all over the table and our table was not the cleanest under the glass top 🤢. I will admit, however, that I would give it another breakfast chance, and I’ll be dreaming about the consistency of the quiche for days to come.
