Trip Report Day #2

10 day trip (Dec. 11th to Dec. 20th)

Monday Dec. 12th

Today is our first day in the parks. Today is Animal Kingdom day.
Katie and I were woken up by Mickey/Stitch at 7am so we could make it to AK for 9am opening. (Note to readers: Katie and I woke up and headed out to the parks early every morning. My parents, usually met us later around noon.) After getting dressed we grabbed a quick bite at Roaring Forks (RF). We then took the bus to AK and made it there for 9am. We went first to Kilimanjaro Safari, it was walk on. After the safari we headed to Festival of the Lion King. This is not to be missed. Katie and I toured the park in the morning and met up with my parents at Flamtree BBQ for lunch. The food was very good. After lunch we all headed to Dinoland. After riding Dinosaur and Primevil Whirl we walked around a bit more and caught a showing of Tough to Be a Bug. It was getting close to parade time so we headed to Harambe to catch it. The Jingle Jungle Parade was quite nice. After the parade, we checked out some other attractions. Just to note, all the rides early on were walk on and throughout the day the waits were not longer that 10-15 minutes. We got to do pretty much everything we wanted except we didn’t get to walk through Asia. We did the Safari twice. After the park closed we took the bus back to WL to make our 7pm ADR at Whispering Canyon Café. The food was really good.
After dinner it was off to sleep to get ready for Mickey’s Very Merry Xmas party the next day.

If you have any questions, let me know.
Day #3 of 10 to come soon.

A good day for all - Flame Tree has a pretty good lunch too - thanks for posting!

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for posting.

I also forgot to mention that I was chosen to lead the warthog section at Festival of the Lion King. I had to get up and lead the section in the hand jive and they called out my name during the beginning of the show!
