Part 9 – Monday, August 2, 2004 MGM

Our plans for today were MGM. We made arrangements with Larry and the girls to be at the Poly bus stop for 8:30. Neither group made it to the bus stop on time. We got to MGM right after the gates opened (actually really good timing!). Me, Chris, Suzanne and Andrew headed to RnRC, got a fast pass and the stood in the regular line. Wow! This quickly became our favorite ride. By the time our ride was over, it was time for the fast pass window, so we rode it AGAIN! We really liked this ride and rode it many more times during this trip. WE met up with Larry and the girls just before heading to our PS at Prime Time Café. We had never eaten here before, so we were looking forward to it. We had Cousin Ed as our waiter. He was good. He gave the boys a hard time…they and the girls had to go wash their hands before we ate. The girls had to go again since they didn’t remember the color of the soap. He also gave the two girls a hard time about being teenagers in high school. He was very understanding of Chris’ peanut butter only sandwich. Everyone got something different and most of us were coveting Valerie’s chicken pot pie that she got…it looked so good. (She told us it was wonderful!) We had a PS for dessert at Sci Fi Dine In for the afternoon, so we headed that way. Decided to ride Star Tours, which is always fun. After Star Tours, we headed to Sci Fi and promptly got lost. Now normally I am a very good navigator. I can get people anywhere, but for some reason MGM confuses me. We ended up back tracking and getting there just in time for our PS. We waited to be seated for over a half hour. We spent some time in the gift shop attached, but it is not very big to wait in for over a half hour. When we finally got seated, we all enjoyed our desserts. The atmosphere in this restaurant is very interesting, but I don’t know that I would make this a regular part of our trip. We rode a few more rides and headed back to the hotel as Suzanne and Larry had date night, and I had the kids with me. While they went to Narcoosee’s, they girls stayed at their room and watched TV for a while, the boys played in the game room, and I did laundry. They girls joined up with us in the game room and we headed to our room for evening desserts and to watch Wishes from the patio. (yes I snuck desserts out of the lounge for the two girls not staying concierge…sorry for my bad…they just looked so pitiful there!…the girls not the desserts). We had the most wonderful Strawberry Shortcake that night. It was wonderful!!! While waiting for wishes, we were joined by a classmate of the boys and his mom (they were staying at Shades of Green). They boys built a sandcastle while waiting on the beach. After Wishes, the boys’ classmate and his mom went back to their hotel, the girls went to their room and the boys and I went to bed, because tomorrow was Typhoon Lagoon day.

Part 10

We had a lot of fun at Prime Time Cafe. It definitely depends on the waiter and how much 'trouble' the kids can take. We were with a group that was hassling with the waiter with their uneaten green beans. It was fun!

Oh rats! You should have called me when Ev and K were there!! I bet the kids had a blast on the beach, building a castle, looking at my castle... <sigh>.... what a beautiful night

BTW, we get confused on that side of MGM as well. I don't know what it is about those streets. Did you see Indy? Jake would be bummed if you didn't! We average a minumum of 3 times per trip. I don't know what's going to happen next time!
