Hey all, I'm sailing on my first ever cruise May 4th (Wonder) and I've got a million questions! Lucky for you I can only remember one right now! ;)

Is there a place to get a latte on board? I know the teens have Common Grounds, but can adults sneak in their to get their caffiene fix? I can't stand coffee, and there's something about drinking Coke for breakfast.

Hoping I'll have an outlet to get a latte. Can't imagine packing my espresso machine! :)

Thanks!

Isn't latte coffee?

Anyway, I never did find a place other than the restaurants to get any kind of coffee drink during the day. There seemed to be something by the Theater but that was only open around showtimes. I've heard a lot of people complain about this, and make the suggestion that they turn the ESPN bar - which was always pretty deserted - into a coffee bar.

A latte has coffee (espresso) in it, but it is mostly steamed milk, therefore it's not a straight coffee taste. Stick some flavored syrup in there and you can taste the coffee even less. I'm saying I can't just order "coffee" and drink it straight. I guess I'm high maintenance in the coffee department! :)

Thanks for the info!

You can't even get a decent cup of coffee on the ship (restaurants included, IMHO), never mind something as extravagant as a latte.:(

I feel your pain....I love coffee ice cream, kahlua (sp) but cannot drink coffee, never could. I am really a tea person...got hooked recently on Starbucks Chai tea....grande chai, no foam, extra chai!!!

Unfortunately only teens are allowed in CG....and I know they serve smoothies and soft drinks, but I do not think they serve lattes in there anyway!!

Boyfriend is an avid coffee drinker...no good coffee on the ship-the world might come to an end! *you must take me very very very seriously on this-no coffee means headaches for him which means no fun*** ( so he's a little hi maintance here-I've learned to deal with it)
Any suggestions...do the rooms have coffee makers in them? Can I bring my own coffee on the ship and have them prepare it? We don't drink wine...could this take its place? It would be worth the "corking fee" for him to have good coffee-I'M NOT JOKING!!!

Please help!

I don't even think they have coffee or coffee drinks at Common Grounds (don't let the name fool ya). I don't think you can get a Latte just anywhere on board. Some of the restaurants might have them, though.

I personally LOVE the coffee they have on the ship. I may be in the minority, and this type of coffee thread has been done many times on this board, but I still LOVE the coffee on the ship! (Just so you know, it's not fresh brewed -- it's in liquid form and frozen in large plastic containers, so it's consistent in taste and strength)

But I still LOVE IT!!!:D

ok...well at least its consistant...is it strong...the boyfriend usually drinks espresso roast...

How about coffee makers on the ship?-In your room that is... I'm guessing since its frozen and thawed out that they dont have a big brewing pot on the ship...

You might try the Promenade lounge. DH and I sailed with some friends last July on the Magic, and one of them had a latte with her frequently. I thought it came from the lounge, but it might have been from the Cadillac Lounge in Route 66. Worth a try.....I can't be totally sure b/c I'm not a coffee drinker. But I feel your pain....as they don't have Dr. Pepper or Mr. Pibb on board!

Yes, you can order coffee from room service. Many people order a pot the night before and it comes in a thermal carafe that keep the coffee hot all night...so when you awake you have a pot waiting for you. Or, you can order when you wake up.

No coffee makers are in the rooms, but other people have said they plan on bringing their own. There are a two outlets on the desk area and one outlet behind the TV.

That reminds me -- I need to bring an extension cord for my curling iron. As I remember, they don't have an outlet in the bathroom.

Not to worry!

I'm a fanatic coffee drinker and only the best will suite my taste. I've never had a bad experience with the coffee onboard the Magic. In fact, it really is a pretty good cup!

I mean, do you really think Disney is going to build a no-expense-too-great, $350 million ship and not have decent coffee? I think not!

I've never tried their "specialty" coffees, but I'm sure they're good. Hmmm, perhaps I'll try one on this cruise!

When I took the 3 day cruise, I was able to order an expresso in the Cadillac Lounge (Piano Bar). I'm sure you can get latte's and specialty coffee's there.

ThreeCircles-Thanks for keeping me calm...if you like coffee as much as he does and have never had a bad cup...I'll take your word for it at hope for the best...

I'll skip packing the coffee and maker...and hope for the best!

thanks Everyone!

I've read that you can go up to Palo and sit at the bar and order espressos. Check Barb's site on the Palo menu, I think it has other specialty drinks that are available.

Ok, I just checked Barb's site. Under the brunch menu for Palo is listed:
Espresso
Cafe Latte
Latte
Cappuccino
Cafe Mocha
Cafe Melange

Hope something here satisfies his need for caffeine.

I personally thought that the coffee served at Parrot Cay for breakfast was one of the better cups I had onboard.

how did I miss that on Barbs site? I'll take a look!

*yeah! They didnt forget the avid coffee drinkers!!!*
