So we only have one day in the parks, was going to do Blue Bayou for lunch but worried it would take too long so I was going to switch to Cafe Orleans. I figured standing in line for 20 then waiting for 10 minutes for the food the timing could be the same. Does anybody know if this is super slow service? How is the food?

Cafe Orleans is TS. The only thing that would make it faster is you could just order a single course, unlike BB which does bread service, soup/salad, then the entree. 10 minutes to serve the food seems a little fast, you should budget more time.

Café Orleans is really small, so if you have the chance to make a reservation instead of waiting standby I'd recommend it! The day I went it was raining and they only had the inside open, which meant maybe 10 tables top and they were turning standby guests away! I ate there in December and the food was great! My table had the Monte Cristo, Pomme Frites, Cajun Chicken Sandwich, and Gumbo if I'm remembering correctly.

Since Café Orleans is also table service like BB is I'd plan on around an hour of your day being taken up for lunch. If you're looking for a quick serve lunch but want similar food maybe you could go with French Market instead? - https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/french-market-restaurant/

I generally agree that 30 minutes isn't going to be enough time for a TS meal, even at Cafe Orleans. In my experience, they aren't slow, but they aren't especially fast either. I'd budget between 45 and 60 minutes for your meal (assuming you have a reservation). It's hit-or-miss if you'll be able to get a table as a walk-up, especially at opening and during the busy parts of the day.

If you're looking for something fairly quick, but still good, I would take a look at the menu for the French Market. It's a QS location in NOS and has some very good choices.

The Monte Cristo is delicious but with just one day in the park I think I would opt for a QS meal instead. If you do decide on CO then I'd make a reservation and plan on longer than 10min for your food to arrive.

Thank you so much! We do have a reservation as of now, I think my fear with QS is that when I was there in November I felt like I waited in line forever for the food. Anyone have experience with how long the lines are at the French quarter? Especially since we only have one day. I am also thinking in my own plan I have put together that I would like like to eat lunch around 1 :)

The times I've eaten at French Market the line was never that long, not like Plaza Inn where it can wrap all around outside at peak meal times. It's been awhile since I've eaten at French Market but I remember it taking less than 10 minutes to get my food.

The French Market line seems to move pretty quickly. As Imdboss said, 5 to to 10 minutes seems like a fairly common amount of time it takes. I eat there almost every trip, including a few weeks ago in mid-July, and the wait wasn't very long. It's pretty uncommon to see the line out the door, so unless you're going at a peak time (e.g., Christmas to Near Year, July 4th, etc.) and want to dine right at the most popular times (e.g., noon), I don't think it'll be all that bad.
