Why would Disney do this to me when I've been staring at pictures of pomme frites for weeks?!?!

Whhhhhyyyyyyyyy????

I have not heard anything about this...
When are you referring too? :confused3

Just a few days ago I contacted Disney dining and made reservations for lunch there next Wednesday. No mention of closure. So this must be a planned refurb after summer crowds?

Cafe Orleans will close on on September 10 and reopen on the 22nd. I have checked with Disneyland and received an email on it.:)

Dates would have been helpful. I was so upset over my lack of fries that all I could do was this

I guess we'll just have to plan a bounceback trip.

Oh yay!! I just downloaded the MouseWait app and was playing around with and I noticed it said Cafe Orleans was closed..I got on here immediately to look for answers LOL...We'll be there the 23rd thru 27th so now we can finally try the Monte Cristo!!

For the record, I think the closure was actually canceled or something. Maybe someone who is there now can confirm, but it was posted here recently, and the park hours on the website (for September, at least) removed it from the closure/rehab lists.

Confirming that it is NOT closed. I posted a thread a few weeks ago about the monte cristo because they were showing CO closed during my visit (now). Middle of last week it disappeared from the refurb list. I made reservations and enjoyed my monte cristo yesterday. I do not know if the refurb has been rescheduled.

Glad you got your MC!

Glad you got your MC!
Thanks! Me too :teeth:

Perhaps this is unrelated to the previously scheduled closure, but last time I went to CO (exactly 1yr ago), the entrance was on the 'Pirates' side across from the Dreams Suite/Gumbo place. This time, the entrance was on the other side across from French Market. I actually had a momentary panic when I walked up to the old entrance and the doors were closed (but then my brain processed that there were people sitting on the patio and eating Monte Cristos so they MUST be open). We were seated near the kitchen entrance/exit and I noticed that AT LEAST 80% of the plates that went out were MCs...

This is correct. We ate there Sunday evening and I specifically asked our server because I, too, had read about closures. She said they may -- and she emphasized "may" -- be closed in November but that it's not for sure.

This just in from my email inbox: "The most recent information we have suggests they will be closed from
November 3rd, 2012 through November 21st, 2012. Please be advised this
is subject to change without notice."

I would assume they will be calling those who have reservations in this time frame to notify them.

Big bummer! I won't get my pommes frites fix this time.

Do we have to make a reservation for cafe orleans? We will be there October 5-9.

Our last trip we ate there about 3 times without reservations, but we're a party of 2 willing to eat at off-times and sit outside or in. We'd wait a few minutes but usually not too long. They really get you in and out quick. We'd feel like we took our time in there and be out in 45 mins. or so.

We have reservations on Nov. 6th. No notifications yet.

Where did your info. (e-mail) come from?
