Hi guys, just a few quick ques about this place as I have never been there before!

How busy is it in the evening? We will be there at the end of Nov, and it will be during the week, so I'm not expecting the park to be too busy (am I right in assuming that???)

Do we need to book before we leave home, or is it normally fine to just show up and wait, or to pop along a few hours before and book a table?

I have had a nosey round the review board, but was just wondering has anyone been without kids - how did you find it? What was the food like?

Thank you very very very much :goodvibes

Me and my fiancee have been twice and we have no kids and we love it....

We go for lunch as even in low season the evenings look absolute murder..... We've seen queues looping halfway round the back of the Rainforest Cafe before. There's lots of characters at lunch and its a lot less busy...

You should be okay just booking when you get there, but booking does seem advisable if you desperately want a certain day (This is the main reason we booked)......

The characters will come to you if theres just two of you, so don't worry about that! :goodvibes

Hope I've helped a bit!

Thanks, that what I was a bit afraid of with the evenings. I think I saw your pics on the review board and it looked fab at a lunchtime, I'm just not sure we can fit it in as we aren't there for too long this time!

Might have a rethink on when I can fit it in :lmao:

I know it isn't the answer for everyone (Going at lunchtime) but for us it was worth it because we don't like the really busy atmosphere.... It is a lovely thing to do though because it is sooooooooo Disney, even though you're not in the parks.... :goodvibes I personally couldn't dream of going to DLRP without my lunch at Cafe Mickey!

i was there in october during the week and it wasnt very busy in the parks but every night after the parks closed there was a huge queue for cafe mickey. i ate at lunch time and it was much more quiet. i think it would be fine to book when you get there although i did book my meals about a week before i went just to be sure lol. i had my dd with me but the table next to us were all adults and they kept hogging our characters :rotfl: you will have a grea time here. the steak was gorgous, the pinochios pasta was lovely too but a bit too garlicy for my moms taste. and my sis and her friend shared a pizza and it was so nice.

we ate there at lunch time as well and really enjoyed it and are doing that agin when we go in 2 weeks for DDs birthday meal.

We haven't been there for lunch before but both times we were there, we booked a 6.30 slot for dinner and it has always been ok. It started getting really busy at say about 7.15/7.30 but we had already had our share of 'peaceful' character interaction by then. On our last trip, Mickey came to our table several times as there weren't that many people seated upstairs yet:thumbsup2 . We were out of there by about 8.30.

If you do want to go there for dinner, go for a 6/6.30pm slot:) .

We may have some movement on the Cafe Mickey front :rotfl: DBF is now starting to come round to the idea :lmao: If I keep slowly working on him maybe by the end of Nov...

We've been there twice for dinner, both times after 8pm when it's been very busy. It's very lively with a great atmosphere ~ and yes, you might have to wait a bit longer between courses but seeing as we're always at least two hours in a restaurant that doesn't worry us. We had very good character interaction both times.

Last trip we ate there at lunchtime ~ it's obviously much quieter then but still a very nice atmosphere. Again, brilliant character interaction.

If you do decide to go in the evening, then I would book in advance, especially if you decide to go for a later time. You can always cancel if you change your mind, your table is only held for 15 minutes so there is no problem cancelling right at the last minute.
