We shall be celebrating my daughters birthday at Cafe Mickey and will order a Birthday Cake.
I was just wondering which characters come over to the table while singing Hapy Birthday?
Does it depend which characters are there at the time?
Can i ask waitors if its possible for a certain character to come over to our table when singing Happy Birthday? eg.. Mickey/Minnie Mouse?
Or is that not possible.
I didnt want any scarey characters coming over to the table hahahahahahaha

Hi,

You can only have whichever characters are in the restaurant at the time - but you can ask your waiter to bring over particular ones of those present, and similarly you can ask for any "scary" ones to stay in the background.

Your waiter won't be able to guarantee your requests, but I'm sure they'll do their best to give you the birthday experience you are looking for .

I dont want to put a dampener on your plans, but when my dd got her birthday cake, they didnt even play the happy birthday song, they just played some odd music and shouted happy birthday over and over. We did get all the characters that were there come over.

But later on in the night another table got the proper happy birthday song!

I would also recommend you request to be sat in the main part of the restaraunt as we were seated in the extension bit and missed out toally.

But maybe it was due to us pre paying and only ordering off the 30 euro menu that were treated a bit second classish!

We went there last week for DD birthday. The waitress was great. She waited until the characters changed over so that Mickey and Pluto brought over her cake. It was fantastic, the look on her little face brought a tear to my eye

We had Mickey and the Genie followed soon after by Minnie when we had our Birthday cake.

You must have been extremely unlucky, I've never heard anything other than the Happy Birthday song when a B. cake comes out.

we are going to ask if mickey & minnie can bring over ours, but of course we will have to see which characters are on, as we dont want a character that the boys dont know - and my youngest only recognises mickey & minnie & goofy at the mo!!!

am sure tho, whoever they get, it will be magical (i know ill love it lol)

When we celebrated my daughter's 5th birthday there the CM told Minnie it was my daughter's birthday and Minnie rushed over and gave my daughter a huge big hug and spent a bit of time with her, it really was priceless

We had Mickey, Baloo and King John when it was DD's birthday. She loved it as they danced with her.

Next time we go it is DH's birthday and he is getting the whole 'birthday experience' too

Funnily enough when we were there the other week for lunch, there were 2 birthdays (different tables). One they sang Happy Birthday and the music etc the other just got this offbeat tune and they shouted HB!?! So similar to Tetley's experience....

Just thought I'd say that it doesn't seem a one off - wonder if it's because there were 2 birthdays??

Hope it goes OK for you. I'm going to be v honest here and say I didn't rate CM for the food or the service (we had a v v rude waitress on reception and our table waitress was 'dizzy' to say the least - it's the only restaurant I had to completely order in French in as it was clear she wasn't understanding what we were ordering in English - even with pointing at the menu!) BUT, I thought the character interaction was absolutely priceless - the characters themselves were soooo funny and interacted fantastically well with all of us (4 adults, 1 young child and 1 baby)

Just for info we had Prince John, Friar Tuck, Pluto and Mickey - they seem to be fairly 'regular' but obviously others do pop up too!

Enjoy - I would defo ask for what you'd like - it can't do any harm if you get a nice waitress
