Hi all,

27TH August! Not long now!

Like probably everyone we want to get the most out of our Disney trip on the smallest amount. For a character meal I'm sure I read we could go to cafe mickey and share some pizzas between us (2 ad 2 kid), but I've just seen on another thread someone having to buy a kids meal for a little one? I know I need to book soon so am just checking which is right.

Also time-wise, if we want to see parades, etc so am I best to book a late lunch. Say 2pm? (as I'd read no characters between 3&6?) or 1.30?

Have lost the other recent thread where people were asking about value for money places to eat. We're going to be taking in a bag of snacks each day and will fill up on breakfast at Cheyenne so we're full as long as possible. But any suggestions for what will have to big the big meal purchase of each day appreciated (we'll be there 3 nights, poss 4 if we go early on first day and eat in Village but I'm guessing eating somewhere between Calais and Disney would be more cost effective?)

Hello :goodvibes

You've got these 2 recent threads that might help you with the cheap eats

You can also look at the menus on dlrpmagic - they are not 100% up to date but will give you a good idea

You could always go to the Auchan hypermarket at Calais and buy things to eat on the way to DLP, or any of the service station do pre packed sandwiches and salads etc and some have sit down selfs where you get a hot meal, a cold plate, salad etc or counters where they sell fresh made sandwiches and snacks, or if you want to wait until you arrive you have EoS or McDo in the Disney Village which will be the cheapest options there :)

you definitely don't have to buy a meal each at Cafe Mickey - I never do now. We have pizza to share, soft drinks and dessert if we have room :).

Wow not long to go now - you must be so excited!

We've certainly shared meals before - on our last 2 trips I have been a picky vegetarian following Slimming World so finding food on the park has really been a challenge! We shared 2 meals in the Cowboy Cookout and I had my husbands side salad. I did have my own pizza in Cafe Mickey though - I couldn't give that up!

Don't forget drinks as they can really get expensive. We take our own squash to dilute and take some in with every day.
We are not very good at been organised for booking restaurants, and more than once have ended up at 7pm having not eaten and finding everything full or closed, and we were all tired and grumpy, so we tend to eat now mid afternoon. Then we grab some chips/ hotdog later or have something after leaving the park. We take our camper now so its not an issue, but when in hotels we take pot noodle type things/ cup a soup that you can just add hot water to (we always took our own kettle too). We also take crisps (although less now I am on the diet!), fruit, cereal bars, oh and a couple of bottles of wine (ds can't cope with late nights so we are normally out of the park by 7.00/ 7.30). We had it sorted the last few times we stayed in a hotel - little bag with stacking plastic cups, plates, 1 set of cutlery, small chopping board, sharp knife, bottle opener in a tupperware box which can store food left over We've always taken our own car so we could take plenty of stuff.
