Cafe Mickey - lunch or dinner?

I want reserve character mealtime at cafe Mickey, but can't decide what time is the best - lunch or dinner.
What time is more quite?
And how often characters appear? Every hour or less?

I've heard that lunch is quieter than dinner - though I don't think it could possibly be any noisier! After the calm and quiet of Walt's the night before, Cafe Mickey came as a bit of shock to be honest!!! :teeth:

Looking at times on the photos we took, it would seem that a new group of (about three) characters come out every hour :)

Do they still do the fantastic garlic mushrooms as a starter for lunch as well?

From previous reports I'd agree with Becky lunch-time definitely seems more enjoyable as well as not having to share the characters with quite so many guests :goodvibes

We had tea there on Tuesday and arrived at 5.00pm (kids eat early) and they had just finished eating when the charactors came out.

The follwing came out -Mickey, Minnie, Eyeore, Tigger, Smee, Gessepi, King John and Pinochio)

They came to each table in turn and there was no pushing and shoving and we got some lovely pics. They seemed to be out about 20 mins.

I have to say we weren't impressed with the actual food for the price BUT the charactors more than made up for it and the look on the girls faces when Mickey and Minnie came to see them was priceless!

I don't like leaving the park midday, we always try to spend as much time as possible in the parks having our lunches in there and our meals in the village in the evening.

We had a superb evening at Cafe Mickey BTW - highly recommend it. :thumbsup2

I would go for lunch over dinner as it was soooo much quieter. We had a booking for 12.00 and the place was practically deserted. DD got so much attention from Mickey & Minnie, it was lovely. We also saw Chip and Dale, Prince John, Pluto, Friar Tuck and Goofy! :cloud9: :cool1:

I agree with Jill - lunch time sounds lovely, but I couldn't stand to waste valuable park time when I could go for evening meal after the park shuts. We always have a fantastic time there in the night time. It depends what's right for your family, if you've got kids, and what ages, whether they have to eat early before park closing, because if so then you may as well go for lunch. :sunny:

Thanks. We decided to go dinner at 18.30.

I have one more question about cafe Mickey.

Is it a "must" to take dinner sets for all members of family?
(Adults: € 34,00 - Children: € 15,00)

I looked at what they offer for kids, but my 4 year old don't eat anything of this. She eating very healthy food at home. for example- boiled or steamed mashed potatoes, chicken meat balls, veggies, soup.
So it will be a waste of money to order that set for € 15,00.

Could we share our meal with child or this is not allowed and those € 15,00 are more like reservation cost?

You can order what you want - I just had a pizza and I didn't finish it, there would have been plenty to share.
