I was reading on DCP this morning about Café Mickeys changes that came in this week

Among other things

- The adult menu has gone up from 32€ to 34,50€ and there's less choice

- Childrens menu is 18,30€

- The childrens dessert buffet is no more

According to a head waiter that the person spoke to there will soon be no more gifts for the children, the first floor will only be open 3 days a week and the dancing has stopped due to staff shortages :confused3

This again according to him is a result of Disney taking back control from Groupe Flo :sad2:

Hi Carrie-Cat

Are these changes with immediate effect? we are going to go to cafe mickey on Tuesday and it will be our first ever visit we have heard so many good reports i hope it wont be to disappointing.

What gifts do the children recieve? and whats the dancing?

The menu and that all changed this last week, they change the menu twice yearly anyway but there are more changes to the 2 restaurants (CM/annettes) this year due to them changing "owners"

There was a suprise gift in the childrens menu, nothing big but it was there and the waiters would get children up to dance like at Annettes

You go to Café Mickey for the characters, not the food as it can be uneven, and they are still all there so I'm sure you'll have a great time :goodvibes

no more kids desert buffet?? thats terrible, we loved that when we were there in june, little one hardly ate it, so we shared it it was fab. :rolleyes1

They wont get people going if there going to change a whole lot of things at the same time. i love the atmosphere at cafe mickey. shame there changing it.:sad2:

It's changed before and it will change again no doubt. They have no pb filling it as if people want to meet the characters and aren't prepared to pay Inventions prices or go to the Sunday brunch at the Steakhouse it's their only real option especially at night.

People who go for the first time now won't know any different and that's how they see all their restaurants I get the impression :sad2:

when these changes are going to take place?

so the meniu in dlrp magic is not updated? I just checked - 15,20 children's meniu :confused3

That menu hasn't been updated in a while as it was increased to 16€ for a childrens menu in June 2011 and now in December to 18,30€.

There are two increases per year at DLP :sad2:

Wow, the children's meal is quite a jump considering they are taking away the sweet buffet. So it's gone up but no sweet at all :confused3.

Let's face it, DLRP aren't the only ones to be doing this and as Carrie says, if you didn't know about it you won't miss it.

Have to say, been to CM twice and never seen dancing or the kids getting a toy? But to be honest, I've really only gone for the character interaction and DLRP know that - surely no-one would go for the food (v mediocre for what you pay) or the service (awful at best the twice we've been).

We went during the day (lunchtime) though so maybe that is why we missed out? Oh, I recall DD1 getting a little film cell type thing with crayons and some colouring pages in it - it was tiny though - was that the toy?

You now have the following in the menu

Pasta Fantasia
Goofys Catch
Mickeys Delight
Pizza Mickey

Chocolat Mousse
Panna cotta with caramel
Vanilla-Strawberry Ice Cream
Fresh fruit Minestroni

Apple, Pineapple or Orange juice, Apricot Nectar, Milk, Grenadine, Strawbery or Mint syrup, Coca Cola, Coca cola light, Fanta , Sprite, Nestea or Sparkling Mineral water or Mineral water

and that's it :confused3

Ah, so there is some kind of pudding albeit not a buffet. That is a bit better!

What is Mickey's Delight :confused3 Can't remember that one but it's been a while :sad2:.

good to know :lmao:

we'll be probably doing Mickey's cafe as character dinner after all.

Hmmm it's not a lot of choice but as long as they have cheeseburgers and something chocolately for dessert my two children will be happy! :lmao:

Luv Suzy

Are two adults still aloud to share a pizza as we were planning to have a starter each share a pizza then have DDs birthday cake?

If you were allowed to before I don't see why you can't now especially if you are having 2 starters and a special birthday cake :goodvibes

For the interested here is the childrens menu
