I have been shopping for a car for a while now. What I have been waiting for have been incentives. This weekend, GM is offerring an excellent incentive; free money. Zero Percent financing. That has pushed me off of my indecisive fence of CTS vs. certified convertible BMW vs. certified Audi convertible. There are no great rates (3.9 for BMW) for the others. I found the color I want, White Diamond. I can live with the interior gray/ebony, it has the heated seats which are almost essential BUT there are no CTSs with nav and a 6 CD changer. How does an after market in the truck CD changer work? I know I can get a multi cd unit. How does it operate inside the car? I am giving up a 4 CD changer in my 300M. Also, what about the nav stuff? Where does the unit that you can buy fit in the car? I could get a 2007 CTS but I miss out on the free money and for what? Toys? I don't go that far that I 'NEED' a nav system. Its a toy.

As far as the mutlichanger. I have a 6 CD changer in my car. I hardly use it cause I have my Ipod plugged into the system.

Does the CTS have an auxilary port for mp3 players?

No, I don't think it does. The salesperson is checking on it for me.

I have owned Cadillacs in the past, and now drive a BMW. There is no comparison in my opinion. Buy the Beamer.

I felt that the CTS and the BMW handled comparably. I did not like the color that was available, mystic blue. The 325CIC and the 330CIC were a bit tight. Fine in the front seat, the back seat is small. The blue BMW had nav but a single cd changer.

The difference I found was that several years later the BMW drove just as tight as the day I bought it. The Cadillac didn't come close to the quality of the Beamer.

Well does the CTS radio play mp3' disk? You can fit lots of mp3's on a cd.

If it doesnt you can buy a new head unit to put in the car that does play mp3's.

Are youy sure about the nav system? We just traded in a 2003 CTS with navigation and 5 or 6 cd changer. That white diamond is a beautiful color.

Its available as an option but since there are now limited numbers of CTSs, they don't have it available with the nav. I am calling another dealer tomorrow. I have a message left on my answering machine that says he can get the car I want. I will see.

If I remember, it was the luxury sport package. It had pretty much everything. The Bose entertainment system was pretty nice. We also were considering BMW this year, but decided to stay with the Caddy.

Another factor in my decision was the total buying experience. After plunking down $52,000 for a new STS the dealer acted like he was doing me a favor.

At the BMW dealer they treat me like a king every time. It's the small things like free coffee, donuts, and bagels in the service waiting area. Comfortable leather chairs with a big screen TV, and wireless internet.

The one time I had a problem with my car they drove to my house (50+ miles), picked it up and left a loaner. The next day they brought my car back.

Go to gmbuypower.com - you can check actual dealer inventory.

I like the CTS! We were thisclose to getting a SRX!

It's all in the dealer that makes the deal. We bought a Cadillac SRX from a wonderful dealer who has the best service I've ever had in 38 years of buying cars.

Do a google search for cadillacforums.com. There are 43,355 members there to ask.

Didn't mean to imply that all Caddie dealers are bad, or that all BMW dealers are good. It was just based on my personal experience.

Question for you Caddy owners...

Up until recently, I've been a Town Car owner. I really like the feel of "driving a couch" - not a big fan of the european, tight handling. I'd rather have the smooth, loose, relaxing ride.

I know, in years past, Caddy's were like that. How are the newer ones? I love the look of the CTS, but it appears that it's more of a "sporty" ride rather than a "luxury" ride. Are the STS's like that, too?

I'd really like a Mercedes or BMW, but the one's I've been in are more "hard" riding. I've not been happy with my recent Lincoln's, so I'm looking for a change.

Thanks, They have a support line too so I called and they are doing a 300 mile radius search! He will call me back in an hour.

There are 5 CTS's that meet my needs within 100 miles. I am going to call them tomorrow. If we have to drive up to get it, rather than depending upon a local dealership to "trade", then we will. I usually hang onto a car for 5 or 6 years, so it will be no big deal.

Right now we have a Lincoln Navigator and an STS, There's really no comparing the two, but we like them both a lot. Our Caddy dealer is top notch and did a search to find the car we were looking for. It was in Pennsy, and they went and got it for us. After owning both Lincolns and Caddys, we prefer the Caddys a little more.

I emailed some dealers, found out where the cars were and went into a different dealership, though not as posh as the first, seemed very interested in getting my business and making an effort to find the car I wanted. They found it on Long Island and I will be getting it Wednesday. It will be Diamond White (essential), have a sun roof, nav and bose, along with the heated seats and luxury package. The cost will be $1100 more than the vehicle without nav and the single CD player. This will have 6 slots. I am happy. I better be. I will be driving it for 6 years. I tend to get attached to my cars and keep them, then replace them and hand them down.

Sure thought I had you talked into *this*!!! You mean you're choosing a CTS instead???? Willingly???? No taste whatsoever!!! :rotfl:
