CAD$ - Keep Your Fingers Crossed...

While the change in oil prices (due to OPEC saying they are greatly reducing production) gave a nice little lift to the CAD that day, it hasn't moved much since.

Still keeping my fingers crossed though.

I am keeping my fingers crossed as well. We will just have to see how many new wells they will start in 2017. They do their budgets in the fall for the next year. In our area ( northern Alberta ) there is talk of some new well in our area, but not so many around the rest of the province. Which is a real kick in the butt here. We can see movement in our business, and hear it is trickling down. There are jobs again, just not the stupid insane wages that were before. So cross your fingers that they will keep drilling and start new ones as well. It will help the dollar for sure!!!:)

It's been pretty flat for the past week. hasn't moved up or down more than 1/2 cent. *sigh*

Maybe if Trump wins the election money will flock out of the US and into Canada and raise the loonie lol

Just checked RBC exchange calculator and the loonie just took another dip...$1.00 CDN = $0.73 US

Yuck!

Just checked myself.....costing me $1.35 Canadian for each US dollar.....I will need to see a much greater improvement before I start buying some $$ for our upcoming trip in May 2017.

A friend of mine this summer was hoping for Brexit to win as he was travelling to England at the end of summer. Sure enough the pound got pounded after the vote :p

I doubt it is going to get much better. These are the signs of the times for a while yet.

The only money I have been putting in our US account is recyclable refunds, Checkout 51 cheques and money from sells on Kijiji. I can't even think about adding any hard-earned money right now.

The US is planning to raise interest rates while Canada plans to keep it low. Cross your fingers there isn't a depression shortly after the US election.

*sigh*. It's taken nearly a 2 cent beating over the last few days :(
Yes, I saw it was at 75 cents on the Royal Bank exchange calculator on Tuesday. My husband went in and changed over our money for this upcoming trip on Thursday, and it had already dipped to 74 cents on the dollar. I'll take the loss though, as today it's at 73 cents.

Yikes! I've been holding off a bit before buying American and haven't paid attention to the dollar this week.
