Hi,

I've been looking for some information about this but can't seem to find anything. I'm sure some of you will be able to help me.

We are going to WDW next month with our 2 year old son and we may need to take a cab a few times. Should we bring our car seat (we are flying down there) or do the taxis have car seats for children ? What are the options ?

Thank you for your help

Richard :)

If you were to bring a car seat, what did you plan on doing with it when not in transit?

Some cabs have car seats, just ask the cab dispatcher or valet to request one with a car seat.

we take our car seat as ds2 needs it on the plane so we dont use cabs but if we had to i think some have aseat in them

Richard,

I thought I had heard somewhere here before that car seats are not required in cabs in some places because they are considered a form of public transportation (just like you wouldn't use a car seat on a bus). I don't know about FL. :confused3

You might want to ask this question on the Disney for Families forum too... they seem to know more about car seats and strollers than I ever imagined! :sunny:

Child seats are required in all vehicles for children under the age of 4 in Florida. A bus is exempt. There is no "public transportation" exemption. Yes, if you plan to use cabs have the front desk request a cab with a child seat or carry your own.

Hi again,

Thank you all for your input.

I'm glad to hear that we can request a taxi with the car seat because we really don't want to carry ours on the plane. We just thought it would be easier to travel by cab to go from our resort to other resort restaurants for our dinner reservations than going by bus.

Richard :)
