Hello,
Has anyone done a private shore excursion to Lovers Lane? We are on the WBPC and would love to go there.Disney does not offer an excursion there.Any information would be helpful.
Thanks so much!:)

Do you mean Lover's Beach? I've never heard of Lover's Lane.

If you do mean Lover's Beach, you can just hop on an inexpensive water taxi.

Yes, that is what what I was trying to say.Thank you.Is it hard to find a water taxi and how long can you stay there? We have about five hours there I think. Is it expensive?
Thank you.:upsidedow

We are on the same cruise. Can't wait.

It's my understanding that the water taxi's are at the marina and very easy. They have a taxi stand similar to an airport. From what I've read you should expect $6-10 pp. Taxi's run all day. Sounds like you can leave about every 20-30 minutes.

You could also book a non-DCL excursion that will take you for a scenic tour and the beach. This is the company I've been researching. http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/Glass-Bottomed-Boat.htm

Have you visited the cruise meet page and joined the facebook group?

Thank you for your information. We were on the EBPC in Dec. 2012.We loved the beauty of Cabo.We thought if we ever come back, we have to get to that beach.I will look up the information, so we can make that happen.I appreciate your time.I am not on facebook.Enjoy the cruise!:thumbsup2

There are a few people on this cruise who have done previous WBPC or EBPC. Everyone has been raving about what a wonderful experience it will be. I am just so thrilled to have this opportunity. :cool1:

In addition to Facebook there is a meet thread on this board if you are interested in "meeting" fellow cruisers in advance or signing up for FE, Secret Mickey, Candy Exchange, mixology classes, linked dining, etc.

There is also a website that a fellow cruiser created.

Before you decide, please do a Google search for "Lovers Beach" and look at the pictures. I can't post any, or I would.

It's the small beach that you see in pictures of the famous "Arch" at Cabo.

It's very small, and the only way to get there is via a small boat or water taxi...which will take you up to the beach, but you have to climb out into the water, and when you're ready to leave, you have to wade (or swim, depending on the tide) out and climb onto the boat.

There are no toilets or changing areas or any shade there at all. If the tide is high, and the waves are high, it can be a really dangerous area to be in.

The opposite side of Lover's Beach is even worse. They ask that people not go there, but some people have gone there, gotten caught in the waves on the beach, and died.

Choose another excursion....and if you want to get pictures of the Arch, take a water taxi from the pier over for pictures, and have it return you to the pier.

Thank you for all the links,I will look into them. I had no idea that the it could be dangerous to get there. It has me thinking twice! We might just have to admire it from the ship. I appreciate all the feedback.:)

The second video....I've had to try to climb into a boat in waves like those...at Lover's Beach. I'll never go back over there. :crazy2:

Same here. Those waves are crashing and the boat goes up and down, back and forth and you're basically being pulled/hauled in by those on the boat, my husband pushing from behind :lmao:. I'm not so graceful. Not so young. :scratchin Not so Sports Illustrated bathing suit issue ready :scratchin A couple of screams later I was glad to at least been to Lovers Beach one time. :thumbsup2

It was romantic though! pixiedust:

This is pick up time. Small boats are your taxis :goodvibes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMUQ5zIuvkk

ETA: OP, there are no DCL tours to Lovers Beach (where you can get off). I can understand why ;) I'm really glad I did it though. At least once.

We've done Cabo on the MR cruise twice. It's our favorite port along that route. Water taxis are easy to come by. They are everywhere begging for your business. We took a ride out to the arch and past it. Saw many seals nestled in the rocks. Very cool. While we saw people on the beach out there we didn't get out. Driver said the tide was too high. Afterwards we went to the main beach. Two margaritas for $5 and chips and guacamole on the beach. Relaxing. Lots of venders though. I actually don't mind them. We took a water taxi back. Wish DCL would do the MR cruise again. Airfare to Florida is what stops us from cursing more often.

We were in Cabo for a vacation last year and were able to take the water taxi out near the arch but couldn't get on the beach due to the tide. There were seals everywhere, and it was so cool even without getting onto the beach. The opposite side is called Divorce Beach according to our guides. The water was violent over there! We got to view it but the boat didn't get too close.

Water taxis are plentiful and cheap. It's worth going over, you don't have to spend all day. It's quite beautiful even if you stay on the boat to check out the marine life. It may not be the best if you've got mobility issues. We don't and didn't find it dangerous in the least. Love Cabo. :thumbsup2

If you want the best guacamole in the world ;) go to Desperado's in town. Amazing. I did a trip report from 2010 when we used our DVC points at the Playa Grande. I think if you search Playa Grande here, it'll come up.

Have fun! :goodvibes

Water taxis are very easy to come by. I think we paid $12 to go to the beach and then a half hour ride which included the arches and a glimpse of "Divorce beach". I enjoyed it. I would recommend it. You do have get out and wade to shore and then back to the boat. It requires a little bit of work and you definitely get wet. Of course, you have to see what conditions are that day and then make a decision but I thought it was a worthwhile experience, especially given that it was a small cost.

I know that you are not asking about other excursions ... but ...

We did the Chileno Bay Snorkeling excursion.

We tendered ashore with our group, walked over to their location (associated with the Cabo Dolphins) picked up our equipment - and they offered anyone a wet suit that wanted one. There equipment (masks, fins, snorkels and wet suit were very good).

We then walked back to the docks and got on the boat (not a zodiac but kind of like that - but holds about 20 passengers) that took us to the snorkeling location. The boat ride was worth the price of admission!! Once at the snorkel location you could: Snorkel, snorkel with a "sea hunt" type of propulsion system, stand up paddle board, sea kayak, swim to the beach. Lots of choices. Not enough time to do them all. Then back into the boat and we got up close to the arches and the beaches on our trip back to the docks.

Would do this again - was a lot of fun

Our favorite excursion from our last trip to Cabo was a whale watching tour, and it took you right past Lover's Beach. They even slowed down so we could get some good photos. I've been out there before, and the surf is very rough. I didn't feel safe taking our little ones out there last time, so we did the whale watching catamaran instead.

If you are there during the winter, this is an awesome excursion! We saw tons of whales, and several were mothers with calves. The kids and adults all loved it! We booked through Cabo San Lucas Tours, I saw a PP booked with them as well. Much cheaper than on the ship, and it was a fantastic time. On the way back they served a mid-morning snack of chips, guacamole and salsa and had soft drinks, beer, etc. I want to say we paid less than $50 per person, so it was a great deal.

Anyway, just something to consider! It would get you close to the arch, but also let you experience some other activities. Have a great time!

Your username and Playa Grande is written on one of my DVC envelopes. :) I read your report and wanted to take note of "good" trades and thought we might give Playa Grande a try some time. Thanks for that report!
