We are leaving for FW tomorrow and I have a question. We have never been anywhere that we hooked up cable to our travel trailer before. I know there is a place to hook it up, but do we need anything special for our TV? Or do we just hook up the cable to the camper and the TV to the inside cable and that's it? Our TV is an Emerson VCR combo if that helps.

It's gonna vary with the camper, but I can tell you how I do it. Outside there is a cable connector which I hook the cable to. Inside, I connect the television to the same connector I use for the antenna, but don't turn on the signal amplifier. Works like a charm.

Thanks, I was hoping it would be that easy. I didn't know if we needed some sort of cable box or anything. (We have never had cable at home either, just satellite). We have a switch with a light on it for the TV hookup in the camper so I am assuming that is the signal amplifier. Thanks!

I guess I don't know if it is for sure. Is there a way to tell or do I need to find the book? And if it isn't, is there anything that I can buy to make it compatable?

Beth, not all sites at FW have cable hook-ups. Make sure you are staying in a preferred site if you're expecting to have cable TV. The non-prefered sites do not have cable.

Did'nt want you to be disappointed once you got there...

No worries, we reserved our preferred site a year and a half ago :teeth:

The only other thing you might have to do is change the set-up on your TV---just go to set-up and in some models you'll see a tv--cable pick for the antenna--then just tell it to autoprogram and your set

Don't forget to bring a cable wire to go from the campsite hookup to your RV's external hookup.

Thanks I think there is one in there, but you have reminded me that we need to double check.

Leaving tonight!!
