Hello!

Are the cabins on deck 2 noisy? (My mom says that since the rooms are "close" to the engine, etc., they would be really noisy. Also, are there any rooms in particular that are noisy or you advise to stay away from? How is the view from Deck 2? It looks like you're almost on top of the water. :confused3

Thanks for any input!

I have cruised 5 times with #6 coming up in 3 weeks all on deck 2. We have always cruised in the same stateroom location, 2108 4 times, 2110 and this year 2112 so I cannot comment on the whole level of cabins. Of course you can guess we love this location. Quiet, except for engine purr as we call it. Close to the steps so you just hop up the steps, or elevator, and you are at 2 of the 3 restaurants. On the lower level so you don't have to fight a lot of crowds to get off at ports. Also close to laundry room for touch up ironing. You are not at sea level, I am not a good judge of distance, but I would say at least 10 feet or more from the water. Anything else just ask.

We stayed on deck 2 last cruise, but our room was under Rockin' Bar D. The noise wasn't so bad when the band was playing, but the bass when the DJ was on got a little annoying. We got over this by falling asleep with our TV on. We've booked deck 2 again for our upcoming November cruise ... but this time we're in the Aft.

I liked the access to getting off the ship, and getting to the restaurants and shops on deck 3. It's a bit of a walk up those stairs to the pools ... but I'm resolved to use the elevator a lot less on our upcoming cruise. :cool1:

YOu could check out dcltribute.com, which gives a list of noisy rooms..ALso, under staterooms on the top of this page, can lead you to a room report..

We just returned from the 3-night cruise in Room 2588. Everything about the cruise was wonderful--even better than DCL claims--except for the location of our stateroom. We were apparently under the galley and we heard a sound that must have been a door closing and opening all night and day (worse at night b/c of the quiet). This sound occured about every minute or so. Needless to say we did not sleep much those three nights. The engine noise was not a problem, just a soothing hum. I was worried about the size of the porthole, but the windows are huge! They take up almost the whole wall, so you have plenty of light. That was nice.

We were on deck 2 in April - mid-ship - it was VERY quiet!!!!! It was our great. You are not "almost on top of the water."

We stayed in 2652 on the Wonder. It was a noisy room. The engine was noisy when we were pulling into port, but everynight around midnight there was really loud music from above us. I am not sure, but maybe the galley and they were prepping stuff for the next day? That being said we are still going to stay on deck 2 this year. I went with the other side of the ship and not as far aft.

you cannot go wrong with 2108-2120 ......great location, no noise, excellent value

That is great to hear. I booked us in 2116 for December

2652 Isn't under the galley but from the room reports it seems that it is above the crew nightclub & people have heard music from that. We are in 2647 on our 2006 cruise. Would a small fan or noise machine block out the sounds that you heard across the hall?

That's what the noise had to be, an employee nightclub. It didn't bother the kids at all or DH the first two nights. The third night of the cruise it was really loud though ( I still can't get the song, "Beat It" out of my head :) ). I never called guest services though, maybe if I had it would have quieted down a little. I had earplugs with me and it still bothered me, but probably if I had fallen asleep before it started I would have been fine. A fan might help, I am not sure.

We stayed in cabin #2004 last year and we loved it. It is listed as a noisy cabin, which made us a bit worried, but we didn't hear a thing.. It was great!! We love deck 2!!

If you look at the ship floor plan you can see what is above you. We had 2126 which is right before the night clubs. We had a pretty quite room.

Your post made my day. We will be in 2000 for the repo cruise in Aug. I am a little nervous about the CM area right next to our room. I can imagine the door slamming all hours. Hopefully, NOT!

We are in 2554, is that a noisy room?

We were in 2552, right next door on the May Repo cruise and it was "as quiet as a mouse"....you will love the location...right at the mid ship elevators.

we loved it on deck two on our most recent cruise. we were in a cat 10 midship. kinda near the elevaors but not too near. compared to our two previous cruises when we were in deck 5 forward, deck 2 is a better location. we hardly used the elevators, except when going to deck 9 or 10. we used the stairs and there we were in the atrium! although it seemed "isolated", deck 5 forward was noisy especially when the walt disney theatre shows were rehearsing in the afternoons. on the contrary, our deck 2 experience was quieter.

my two experiences on deck two were completely different.

Once, not noisy at all...

2nd time, we were right under Wavebands, and yes... it was noisy. But I was usually up until Wavebands closed, so it didn't bother me in regards to sleep, but if you have children, or are a light sleeper, then I would reccommend not being in one of the Forward staterooms on deck 2.

Otherwise, the location was ideal I thought. Easy to get on and off the ship, and close to the clubs, and restaurants... was able to avoid the elevators, unless you were going to the buffet lunch or the pools.
