Cabins in the front portion of the ship

Do these cabins tend to 'rock' more?

I'm not so much concerned for myself, but my husband. I have no doubt he'll get sick if the room is exceptionally rocky.

Any of you ever stayed in a room close to the front of the ship? What is your opinion? Thanks!

I love the front of the ship and don't notice any more or less rocking than aft.

If it's exceptionally rocky, you'll feel it EVERYWHERE on the ship.

Hi Kim!

We've been on 4 cruises and the most forward we've stayed is room 2510. We had 20 foot waves on that cruise and we did feel it, and I’m pretty sure you could feel it about the same everywhere on the ship. But on our other cruises the seas never got over 10 feet and the ship was very steady.

After the first day and you get your sea legs, it takes about 12 foot seas to start really feeling the motion, and the seas in the Carribean are that high normally. I don’t think location is going to make a big difference. Remember, the ship is almost 1,000 feet long and weighs 80,000 tons and has great stabilizers to keep her steady, and when it moves, the whole thing moves.

In any case, be prepared but not worried about high seas (or weather in general), I’m sure you’ll have a great cruise.

We were in 8008 a few weeks ago and have been in 6006. Both are forward of the forward elavators and it was fine, and my wife is very sensitive to motion. We have also been midship and I agree that if its rough seas it won't matter where you are.

Just go with the tide and enjoy the ride! (My priest told me that when we got married!LOL)

Buck4568, we are planning on a room in that same area of the ship, how did you like the room? Noise from above? Anything, plusses or minuses for either booking there or not there? Thanks, Jeff.

I stayed in a forward cabin on a RCCL ship, and did feel that the ship movement was more noticeable comparing with the aft.

I tend to be way forward (secret porthole room) or way aft (5650), and you do feel the motion more forward. But it's not as pronounced lower in the ship. Even when I've noticed it, it's never been enough to make me seasick. The only time I've ever gotten queasy was when I was up in the spa (which is forward on deck 9) on a day with rough seas.

My room is also Forward on the Ship (cat 5 deck 7), but I looked at deck plans and notice we are below the Suites upstairs, so I figure, if those are the "best" rooms on the ship, one deck lower can't be too bad!

I have never cruised before and am worried about the motion, so I purchased the "Sea Bands" just in case. Rather be safe than ruin my first trip!
