this is probably going to be really dumb question. I know a lot about a lot of resorts but practically nothing about the Cabins.

1) is there a thread devoted to them here so I can do some reading/questions
2) is it, or is it not the same thing as Wilderness Lodge? Are they connected? I thought they were connected to the campground, but can't seem to figure it out.

thanks!

There is a walking trail that connects the lodge to the campground, but I think I read that with the construction going on at the lodge, that the walking trail is not available? I'm not entirely sure about that, or how long it will last.
They do NOT share amenities-like pool access and such.

2)Not the same as the lodge. They are close together and there is even a trail that connects them. The trail is a couple miles long I think. You can take a boat between the 2 also. The cabins are at the campground.
We love the fort! The camping at disney forums has lots of information fort related. There's info for all kinds of campers there-tent campers, rv campers, and us cabin dwellers.

thank you! just what I was looking for.

There used to be two trails between the resorts. With the new construction at WL, the trail along Bay Lake is no longer open. The paved trail between the resorts along the road the bus takes is still open. It should only be about a 15 minute walk from FW Settlement area to WL. Just know the path is not lit at night.
