Hi
By any chance do you have insights on the likelihood of getting a cabin at Fort Wilderness at 7months for Thksgiving ‘26 ?

Starting to plan on whether to rent points and secure it (not super fan of the lack of flexibility if anything changes though), or play with the odds..

Thanks for the insights

If you're talking about the Cabins at Fort Wilderness...I can't offer any guarantee, but I would be surprised if they're all sold out at the 7 month mark for Thanksgiving. Christmas and New Year, maybe...but I would think some should still be there...I've been to a few Disney resorts over Thanksgiving weekend and gotten reservations at 6 months or less - though I admit I wasn't being picky on where I stayed (usually got OKW or Saratoga) - the Cabins weren't DVC back then.

Right now, there are only 63 or 65 cabins declared for DVC point bookings.

The good part is that there are not a lot of points sold so most are still available at 7 months.

But, I have not watched that closely. I know there are times when I saw them booked close to that.

Since so little points have been sold, you might have difficulty finding someone willing to rent you points at the 8-11 month mark. And if you get to the 7m, sounds like you can get it yourself. I would recommend booking direct with Disney if you are dead set on specific dates, can always cancel or modify until closer to your dates

We booked that week last year and it went pretty fast, gone within a few minutes. Just out of curiosity I occasionally check on it when scoping out other possible reservations and the current day always seems to book quickly. Spotty availability does open up behind those dates pretty regularly, so I think there's some amount of walking going on. Just a guess though. The good news is the next day is almost always available so if you can be ready to book right at 8 a.m. I think you stand a decent chance.

My big concern w/ a 7 month Ft. Wilderness cabin reservation would be that since they haven’t sold that many points they’ve declared less than 20% of the resort, basically 63 cabins out of the 363 cabins can be booked on DVC points & there are a lot of direct buyers of other resorts & pre 2019 resale owners who are able to book the cabins & might want to ‘try them out’ at 7 months + the cabin point charts are pretty attractive compared to other 1 br. type options.

I agree.

I've been stalking cabin availability since they've opened. Right after they opened I was able to snag 2 nights December 2024. I enjoyed my stay.

Since then I've not seen the popular times October through March readily available at 7 months. I could have booked this coming May 2025 but it wasn't really a time I could go.

Thanksgiving 2026 will not be easy on 7 month points. Maybe cash from Disney is the best bet.
