I had family members in 8532 and 8534.
These cabins are adjoining; i.e., there's a door that connects each cabin to the other. The closet that's by the door to your cabin is reduced in size by this door; i.e., the other cat 3's (like 8546, our cabin; I really appreciated the bigger closet to store a car seat) have a bigger closet here.
These cabins have a triple wide veranda, and the pull down bed is in the sitting area. The sitting area is very spacious. You'll have a lot of room to move around.
The room has a lot of features that no one will show you. There are light switches for the lights on the veranda that you have to push aside curtains to find. The trash cans in the bathrooms are tiny (think the size of a big gulp cup) but there's a larger one under the wet bar. The plug in for the vanity is located on the wall behind it; you have to remove a drawer that has it's back cut away to access it. I would recommend bringing both a extension cord for using appliances at the vanity, and also a power strip for plugging in items such as cell phone chargers and laptop computers, if you travel with those items.
The cabin has 2 TVs and a VCR; and in the sitting room there's a CD player & receiver. The concierge has CDs and videotapes to borrow. We had a portable DVD player that DH plugged into the stereo with RCA plugs that we brought with us. Interesting story - prior to our cruise someone on these boards had a problem with the Magic's engineering staff in that no one could tell her what channel the TV needed to be on for the VCR to work; 3 people came to her room before someone figured out the TV has a 00 channel. This was in April 01. We cruised in July 01 and there was a sticker on the TV that said "use 00 for VCR". Remember that!
One amenity you should take advantage of is the expanded room service options. You can get hot breakfast, and any menu item from any restaurant. There were photocopies of all menus in our cabin on embarcation day.
One bathroom has just a shower, and the master bathroom has 2 sinks, a jacuzzi tub and a shower. You'll get toothbrushes & toothpaste + the usual amenities in the bathrooms. Beware of the step up into the bathrooms! Until you get accustomed to it you'll practically kill yourself stumbling up and down this step. In our cabin there was a hairdryer in one of the vanity drawers, but it wasn't plugged in properly & that's when I had to ask our steward what to do with it & he showed us how to take out the vanity drawer to use it. I've seen photos of cat 3 suites since then and there may be a different hair dryer in the master bathroom now.
Don't expect too much from the concierge. They'll deliver amenities to your cabin every day, like a fruit basket, chocolate covered strawberries, game cards for the arcade, etc. I understand there's more amenities for concierge guests now, like a dedicated check-in on embarcation day. Our concierge refused to tell me just how many square feet 8532 and 8534 were, and made a reservation for Palo at 10am when the brunch didn't open until 10:30. At the social on embarcation day they can make reservations for you, but they don't save time slots in the spa for concierge guests; if all the spots for a surrial bath are taken by the time the concierge gets to the spa after the meeting, then you don't get a surrial bath. I wouldn't rely on them, if you absolutly want a particular spa treatment or a particular time for Palo - just do it yourself. They absolutly won't make FRN reservations.
Even though the cabin is spacious I'd still bring the over-the-door shoe holder + a pop-up laundry hamper. You can keep both of these things in the walk in closet and it will organize everything that much better.
After I cruised I posted in my trip report that if you're willing to shell out the $$ for a cat 3 cabin and if you can't get a 32 or 34 cabin on the sail date you want then pick another sail date. These cabins are wonderful and if money is no object you'll have the time of your life! Hope this helps!
