We have friends traveling with us on the 4/23/05 Western and they have booked two category 9 staterooms - 2094 and 2096 - because they needed connecting cabins. I have read elsewhere that these have been noisy cabins. Has anyone ever stayed in these cabins? How bad is the noise level?

Yankee914,

We stayed in cabin #2586 which is right near those rooms but on the opposite side of the ship and we were concerned about the noise and what was in that big "empty space" on the other side of the hall. Rest assured we never heard any noise from the hallways except for the night before disembarkation when they were moving the suitcases out in the hallways. (But I am sure everyone heard that suitcase moving from any deck on the ship and it only lasted about 20 min. to 1/2 hr.)

Our cabin was listed as a "noisy room" and we were worried because we had our 3 yr old DGD with us. She slept like a log and so did we. No engine noises or mechanical sounds at all.

The day we were in port at Nassau, there was a banging sound like someone was pounding on metal in the late afternoon (around 3:00 p.m.) It sounded like they were repairing something and we wondered what that was. Still don't know!!

I don't think your friends will have any noise problems in those rooms at all!! Have a good time planning the cruise!!!:wave2:

Thanks so much for your reply. I was hoping that it wouldn't affect them too much because the rest of our party will be on Deck 7!

I hope they are goods rooms too. I have those rooms reserved for the 8/6/05 cruise. Just to let you know that on RCI this past February we stayed in a suite on level 10 right under the Buffet. I heard very little noise if anything at all. Also, by the look of the ships map our rooms our located at the end of the club not right on top of the dance floor.
