Cabin upgrade at Davy Crockett ranch

Hi all,

Just wondering how easy it is to get a free upgrade to a premium cabin at the Davy Crockett ranch. This is my 8th trip to DLP but my first Time at the ranch. The previous 2 stays I have stayed at the disneyland hotel and have been able to get a free balcony upgrade both times by emailing a few days in advance and also asking at check in resulting in a saving of €200!!
Has anybody received a blagged upgrade at the ranch?

Guess it all depends on how busy the ranch is and how many people have booked the premiums.

We were upgraded once to a premium but it was january

The next time we were upgraded to a 2 bed rather than a 1 bed that we'd booked. Personally I preferred the 2 beds. Better living area sofa. It's a bench with a cushion in the premium ones.

The ensuite was nice in premium however especially as we went with my folks so we gave them that room and we took kids into other bedroom which had 4 single beds. Ones a pullout. We put travel cot in and 3 singles. Was lovely and in nice weather the decking are would be lovely

We've been offered premium upgrades several times at check in, but tend to stick with the 2 bed...although the premium air con is a bonus in the Summer.
