I've been looking for a good price on a cabin rental in the Smokies or Blue Ridge Mts. There are a few possibilities on VRBO, but I was wondering if anyone here could recommend a company or individual that you have used before. We are looking for a 1-2 bedroom.

We rented a lovely cabin in Maggie Valley, NC two summers ago from Carolina Mountain Vacation Homes operated by Shelda Muirhead at Escapetomaggievalley.com. I can PM her phone number to you if you're interested but it's probably listed on her website too.

Last summer we rented from Sunset Cottages and the cabin had amazing views - was extremely clean - reasonably priced - and they have dozens of cabins in their inventory.

Their check-in office is in Pigeon Forge and is easy to find (Just one street off the main 'drag')

They have cabins that are located on the Parkway BETWEEN Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg - so you can be right at the heart of it all.

We rented a 6 bedroom for us and DW's family. They have everything from studio cabins up to 10br I think.

I have also stayed at Hidden Mountain Resort before as part of a youth group trip - and that cabin was very nice as well. The only thing with Hidden Mountain is that their cabins can be quite a ways out in the country. While all of Sunset's cottages are closer in to all the attractions from what i can see on the maps.

Myself and my sister's family have stayed with Hidden Mountain a half dozen times over the years and have always been very pleased.

As PP mentioned, some of their cabins are a ways out, but that's only if you stay at the West cabins. We've always stayed at Hidden Mountain East and felt plenty close to everything.
