cabin questions

My will be then DH and I are planning a trip to disney in december 09. I know way in advance, but but I'm so excited! This will be the first time I've been any time but july, or march, and I've always wanted to go just to see all the decorations! Any whoo... we are anticipating going as a family trip with the 2 of us, my parents, brother wife and niece and nephew, MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL and the son who then will be 3. We are talking about getting cabins, and MIL FIL have a camper, but are looking to get a 5th wheel, so we will then have a camper and 5th wheel. My questions are this...
1. Are the RV site remotely close to the cabins?
2. Are pets allowed at the cabins?
3. Parents and brother and family are eligible to stay at Shades of green, would they be better off there?
4. Do the cabins have seperate bedroom or all just one room?
5. Can you put a tent outside cabin?
Sorry about so many question, i just have no idea about FT wilderness. The only place I've ever stayed is shades of green or a timeshare off property.

First off -- Congratulations on your up-coming wedding!

1. Are the RV site remotely close to the cabins? There is at least one cabin loop that backs up to an RV loop -- very handy if you have enough people in the cabin where additional bathroom access is desired. (Sad to say I donn't know the loop number off the top of my head)
2. Are pets allowed at the cabins? No -- I don't think so -- there is a nice kennel located at the Outpost
3. Parents and brother and family are eligible to stay at Shades of green, would they be better off there? That depends -- there is a max of 6 people and an infant in a cabin and in my mind, that would be pretty crowded.
4. Do the cabins have seperate bedroom or all just one room? Bedroom in the back w a full-size (I think) and a bunkbed with two smallish twin size mattresses; and a pull-down bed in the living-room and a child-sized sofa. (The pull-down bed is the best one in the cabin IMHO)
5. Can you put a tent outside cabin? I am pretty sure everybody has to be in the cabin.
Sorry about so many question, i just have no idea about FT wilderness. The only place I've ever stayed is shades of green or a timeshare off property. THE CABINS ARE WONDERFUL -- I love the kitchen. HAVE A GREAT TIME!

Hi we just returned from 4 nights at the ft cabins. They are very roomy inside compared to a regular disney hotel room. However the beds are very, very small. The bedroom bed is like a glorified twin, the bunk beds are tiny my poor 15 year old son had his feet hanging off and getting caught in the wooden ladder. During the night my husband left our bed and went to the bottom bunk!!!! he couldn't take the double bed we were in. it was up against the wall which just made it feel smaller to us. He was quite the sight on that bunk being 6'3" tall. My daughter and her fiance were on the murphy bed I think they had the best bed. they never complained. All my husband kept saying is I want my own king bed back...... I wanna go home. That was depressing to me I never want to go home when I am in the world!!!!!

Be sure to stock your cabin their restaurants close from 2:30 to 4:30 daily. There is no place for hot food at this time. We paid $35 for bread, small packs of turkey, bologna and a small mustard, chips and cookies in there trading post store.

Thanks for your responces. All of this is very good to know expecially about the beds. DF is 6'4" and DB is 6'2". Those definetly wouldn't work. Could you put a tent outside of camper? My nephew wants to sleep in the tent at least one night, and mom and dad have said they'll probubly just stay at SOG with brother and family, but fiances family will be taking camper and 5th wheel.

I am not sure about putting a tent outside the cabins, there is a small driveway in front of the cabin i'm sure a tent will fit there. But I would call ft wilderness and ask them about it. You could even rent a camper instead of paying the $279 per night for the cabin. I am from So Florida and there are places here where you can rent campers for alot less per week. HAVE A GREAT TIME

Hi there, we have just returned from 2 weeks in the cabins, and didn't have any problems at all. As far as bed sizes go we are from the UK so we are not used to huge beds so that may have made a difference. Our party was DH and I, 2 teens 13 and 15 and Grandma and Grandpa, and we fit fine. The loop that backs on to the RV sites is 2100 loop (which is where we stayed) I think that you would struggle to put up a tent here.

Yes, as long as the tent is on the sand pad it's fine to have one at a campsite. There should be plenty of room at most sites, just let CR know what you are bringing so they can give you a larger site. I don't believe you can have a tent at the cabins though since there is no sand pad.
