Fort Wilderness Cabins Pre-trip

Hi everyone. We only a few weeks away from my families trip to FW. This will be my 5th stay at the cabins and my 9th trip to WDW.

Here is the Cast

Me-Skyw or Kelly- Age 43- I am a retired Army helicopter pilot and mom of 6.5 year old son and 22 year old step daughter that is in the Navy. I am the planner and reader of the Dis boards

DH- Age 44. But if you ask him, he will forget how old he is. He is also a retired Army helicopter pilot and a current EMS pilot. He is also the love of my life and I could not imagine my life (or Disney) without him.

[

DS- Age 6.5. He is into Legos, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and riding his bike. He loves going to Disney but really loves the pool the best. He is dying to get to the Lego store and spend his allowance.

DSIL- Age 50. She is into my son!!!! She is the best aunt and sister in law ever!! She is an absolute blast to have on trips with us.

We plan on Arriving on the 22nd of April and leaving the 28th. I know this isn't the Trip Report area!!!! This just seems to fit here better. You guys can understand my excitement!!!!:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

More to come……….

I tried to post my photos.....I will work on it. Something went wrong with the link.

I'm so jealous! Have a great time!

OK now the information....

We got 40% off the Cabin. It was $1460 (plus or minus a few bucks) for 6 nights. Love this room only discount. We also got the military tickets again for this year. It will be $125 per person park hopper. This year we only get 4 days instead of 5. No complaints here.

Now I will be honest. DH had a horrible back injury this year. He was layed up for 3 months in bed. I also have a damaged nerve in my face from sinus surgery. I didn't think we would be going to Disney this year. The lord has blessed us and my husband is back to work and feeling better. I feel Ok. But even a bad day in pain at Disney is better then staying at home!!!! :cool1::cool1: When they offered the 40% off for room only, I just couldn't say no.

I have already reserved my Golf Cart with Kenny. This will be my second time and I really love his service. I also rec'd a 10% off for being a return customer. Cha Ching. More discounts.:banana:

We are so lucky to have a direct flight to Orlando from Indy. We use Airtran. So for three of us, we have direct flights to MCO for $563. Deal. Also got another deal using a coupon code from Mousesavers.com on a car rental. I will post the price later. I forgot the actually cost for 6 days. It was around $240 with all of the taxes for a midsize.

Thanks for reading.

I can't wait to read your report. We are staying for 9 nights over Halloween in a cabin. We actually are DVC members and had reservations at the Boardwalk for that week. My whole family voted to rent the Boardwalk reservation and stay in the cabins. Crazy, huh? We love to camp and have a camper but not enough vacation days to drive it to the Fort. Have a great time. I have a 1st grader too.

Yes fishing. We might take DS6 for a morning trip with DH at the Fort. And then DH will probably get a charter on Lake Toho by himself. I am trying to work out the days.

Oooo, very nice,:thumbsup2

would sure enjoy see'n any catches they may catch (pics):goodvibes

Another Indy resident and Airtran fan here. That direct flight is the best! Have fun!

I had to cancel my Hoop De Do ressies. I made them wayyyyy before my DSIL wanted to come. I tried for a month to add her. Oh well. I will get there some day.

Our plans for the first day:
Arrive MCO, get Alamo rental car, got to the Publix by the outlet mail and get food, Off to Shades of Green to get Military Tickets and finally to FW to check in. I am going to request loop 2100 again. I really liked being close enough to walk to the pool. Especially with that little path near the comfort station the cabin loop.

We were going to start the vacation off right and go to the HDDR. So I am planning for CS at DTD and a trip the Lego store before DS looses his mind. :yay:

I have tried to do the tie die Mickey shirts. Some are good, others are down right bad. I will post a picture later today or tomorrow.

Am I forgetting anything yet?

Hit edit, then go advanced, that will let you change the title.

This is great! We also arrive on the 22nd of April, but will be there only until the 27th..This is our 1st trip to Disney and we are soooooo excited about the cabins!!!!:woohoo:

I so love the cabins. Would love to go cheaper but can't bring ourselves to stay anywhere else. Just love the Fort! Have an awesome time.

Your first trip??? You are going to have a great time. Did you pick up any books to help you? I use the Unofficial Guide. It really helped me aviod longgggg lines. You will love having the cabin for naps!!!

We have the same problem. We could cut our expenses by staying at a value and not getting a GC. But we love the fort as much as WDW. DH loves to fish. So he goes out when we are resting. It is a vacation we all can love.

Hi again. I need some help. I have attempted to put some photos on this thread and I only get the link. Not the picture. I have done this a million times and now it isn't working. Any help with the trouble shooting????
