Cabin location request for Ft Wilderness?

I asked last year and 2800 loop was recommended and we loved it!! I know more cabins have been added since our stay last December, any advice in what I should request for location? We are there there just for the Fort-no parks and will have a cart. Thanks!

Personally 2800 loop is my favorite. It's large, quiet, not next to pools, you can get pretty far away from the road in the back of the loop, and about 70% of the outside cabins have no other cabins in your 'backyard'. 2700 loop isn't too bad either, as long as you avoid the higher number cabins that get closer to the pool (noise-wise, but not if you like the pool). The 2300 and 2500 loops are small, but if you request 'back of loop, outside', then you get peaceful woods and a canal behind you - also not too bad.

I always have a cart, so I always request backs of loops as I don't need to walk to busses or anything. In general, requesting 'outside' loop cabins are more peaceful as the inside loop cabins can sometimes have other cabins visible out the back as well as to both sides of you - I like more of a sense of wilderness so the fewer other cabins I see and the more woods I see, the better.

Interesting. We prefer 2200-2600 specifically to be closer to the front of the fort. We've been in 2200 the last couple of times and have loved it.

I think having a cart or not can make a big difference in preferences. Without one, I could see wanting to be near a front of loop, closer to the pool, etc. Having the cart means it's not a problem to be in the back of a big loop or farther from the pools, stores, bus stops, etc since you pretty much use your golf cart to get anywhere.

I'm generally OK with any of the outer loops that back up to forested areas, but don't prefer any of the inside loops - 2200, 2400, 2600. - mostly because the main road is often visible out the back and usually other cabins are in the view as well.
