Does anyone know what cabin could accommodate a family of 5? Also any rough pricing? Thanks

If you want to have one cabin, then Cat 4 or higher are your only choices. It would be cheaper to book two connecting rooms in a lower category. Pricing will be determined by what month you want to cruise & how soon.

A category 4 or higher would accomodate your family of 5. Or you could consider two adjoining category 10 cabins as a cost effective alternative.

Pricing will depend upon how early you book - the earlier the better - and if you are booking around holidays or school vacation times which are generally pricier. You can check the DCL official website or obtain quotes from online travel agencies, as well. Good luck!

We are a family of 6 Me ::MinnieMo , DH ::MickeyMo , and 4 princesses princess: princess: princess: princess: . We had to plan years ahead, skip a vacation for 05 and booked 2 cat 10s for 06. It is a 7 nighter and it is around $7000 all totaled. I played around with lots of different dates and 3,4, and 7 nights. It seemed for us that staying away form the really high priced weeks, we ran $1000+ per night for 6 in 2 cat 10s. You having 5 will be slightly less (depending on ages). The first two people in each cabin count as adult fares. You may not want cat 10s. That is the lowest with connected cabins. DH and 2DDs are down in one and I and the other two DDs are in the other. BUT the four girls can sleep in one. I consider it a two bedroom suite. 2 TVs, 4 sinks!!

My 2 cents :earsgirl:

We are a family of five and our first cruise we booked a cat 4 and cruised in october and if memory serves I believe the cruise was about 2200.00. We drove which saved quite a bit of money. We had booked that rate through AAA and you do not have to be a member. Another good place to price is dreams unlimited. We just booked a september 05' cruise through them. This time there will be only 4 of us and got a good rate. Good luck.

Okay family of 5, DW and I, DD8, DD7 and DS4. If price difference is not an issue, which is more comfortable? Cat 4 or 2 connecting 9s? I like the verandah but I think my wife was out there a total of 2 minutes on our last cruise.

Did not get a quote on a Cat 3, I assume that is considerably more. What are the odds one would open up (I don't think any available now) between now and May 27 2006? Is it a big difference between cat 4 and cat 3? I was qouted $8,825 for cat 4 on 5/27/06 7 day.

I would definitely go for the two rooms. We did this in September, and it worked out so well.. The convenience of having two showeres/baths and just the bathroom in its own with 5 people is marvelous...

We used a scrunchie to hold the two doors open at all times, and it was like we had a mini-suite... The kids could also watch their own tv shows, and us the same.....

Just a thought, if you could get it close to deck7 aft, then you could use the quiet deck! :goodvibes

We are a family of 5 - Dh, Me, DS (12), DD (10) and my DN (12). We booked on 11/03/05 3 night Wonder cruise. 2 cat 10 connecting rooms...$2,553.

I thought the price was great. We took the same cruise 07/04, just the 4 of us in a cat 11 room and it was $2400. So for another $150 we have 2 rooms, with 2 double baths and we're taking my nephew along also.....

We'll have to pull the kids from school for 3 days, but they can do homework on the plane and travel is always a learning experience!

:cloud9: :goodvibes

We are also a family of five.

First cruise we booked two cat. 11s (adjoining, not connecting).

Second cruise we booked a cat. 6 with verandah and an 11 across (we hardly used it since we travel with friends and meet elsewhere).

Third cruise coming up in July - We booked a cat. 8 (porthole) and one cat. 11 across.

Depending on when you travel and the ages of your children and how you want or don't want to be separated, there are a few different options to play with. The two bathrooms are great and my two sons are (at least one is) growing giants :).

Good luck.
