We just got a call from DCL that we have cleared the waitlist for a Cat 3. The one they currently have open is 8602, at the very back of the ship. I know it is a handicap cabin and the verandah is huge, but not at all private.

I have seen some pictures of the cabin, and the layout looks basically the same as other Cat 3's (we've stayed in 8048), but would appreciate hearing any comments/opinions.

We have until noon tomorrow to call them back.

Thanks.............

Can't comment on 8602, but I did stay in it's twin 8102. It was myself, DH, DD and DS. We loved it! Huge verandah...we fit over 20 people on it and still had room for many more. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there if I was you.....you get a great view of Castaway Cay, as the ship usually backs in!
Only draw back was Topsiders is directly above you, so you may hear them moving chairs around a bit in the mornings and late evenings.

Hope that helps you out...

Hugs,

Don't have an answer for you, but we are tentatively booked for 8048 next year on the Magic. Do you have any comments on that room - PM me if you would rather. Thanks for any info - we are pretty excited.

The only problem we had with 8048 was noise from deck 9. As with most cabins on deck 8, you can hear the CMs moving tables and chairs around pretty early in the morning. I think the worst noise was the night of the deck party. That cabin is pretty much right under the Goofy pool where they have the party and it was pretty loud. We couldn't even think about trying to go to sleep until the party was over. The room is very nice with lots of room to spread out. The Murphy bed is in the bedroom, right by the door to the verandah, so if the bed is down, you can't get out that door.

Hope that helps........ Have a great cruise!

Thanks RonnieJo......... we had the same noise problem in 8048. I think we'll take a white noise machine this time...............
