Hi:

I have a hold on Cabin 7543 on deck 7. We have never cruised before. It appears to be mid-ship and a middle deck.

Do you experts think this is too close to the elevator? Is it under a stair-well? Will people be thundering up and down the stairs over our heads all night?

Thanks for any info

I've never stayed in this specific area, but I actually prefer to be near the elevators. My favorite spot is deck 7 aft. I never hear noise attributable to the elevators, and I think being close to them and the stairs makes it easier to get around the ship.

You're not so much under the stairs as next to them. I still don't think that will be an issue, though. The only time the stairs are really crowded is before and after the lifeboat drill, where everyone is going to/from their cabins to their lifeboat muster stations. After this, everyone spreads out about the ship pretty well, and there really aren't crowds as such on the stairs.

We just returned, about two weeks ago, from the Magic. Our stateroom was #7542 and #7540 - right across the hall from the room you have on hold. I really enjoyed being on deck 7 and mid-ship. We were two floors up from the kids clubs and two floors down from the pools. We did not have a problem with noise.
It was convienent for us (w/ three young kids) to be close to the elevator. There were times when we would have the stroller with us for our youngest.

I hope this info. helps - good luck!

We were in 7544 & we loved it. Great location- near elevators. No noise very quiet deck!

That is the exact room that my stepson, his wife and two children will be in on the 2/21/04 cruise!

It does have room for 4 in the cabin.
