cabin 5666

just read a very unflatering review of cabin 5666. if you have stayed in this room i would love to hear your comments. i was a bit worried after reading this and i know i could still change the cabin so.........lets see what info i get.

sorry, should say we have this room on the fantasy however as the ships are sisters i would think the issues would be the same.

most likely if it were the Dream. Unless they soundproofed the ceiling in Evolutions, the bass will be a problem. Also the ocean view configured with 5664 balcony if bad. They will have a great view into you room. The large wall mirror also expands the view into your room if they stand at the right angle. Move if you can.

We had Room 5664 on the Dream in April and we couldn't see into room 5666 any further than the seat in the porthole during the daytime. (I made sure to look after reading Larua24's review before we went ) It would be another story at night with the drapes open and lights on.

Frankly, I was wondering what the people in 5666 were thinking of us out on the veranda in our PJ's as we were watching the ship come into Nassau & Castaway Cay! But we absoutly enjoyed the extended veranda and would choose that room again in a heartbeat.

The noise from Evolutions didn't bother us at all. We could hear a little bit of bass, but nothing that was so bothersome that would make me move and give up that veranda

OMG! thanks for the pic. i really am disturbed by this, didn't realize it was so 'there'.
i just checked my cruise and don't see another room in our cat. we got it when it first opened and used the ob discount as well so our cost is 'low'. there are cats lower available but they are $1000 more. guess we will have the drapes pulled all week.

No, only deck 5 veranda's extend.
Here is a picture looking directly up from 5664 (Dream) Barely caught deck 6, but you can get the idea.

as for the drapes in the room, if DCL had thought about it they should have had the drapes close from left to right so that you could leave them partially open but they are reversed. 5664 balcony was to close for comfort for me. We had friends staying in 5668 and the noise was disturbing them also. We also saw the room next to them (5670?) packed up and waiting to be moved after the first night. Here's another shot.

This is from the porthole looking back at mirrored wall. Possibly with the right angle it would do a little show and tell from the balcony. Goodluck working it out.

thanks for all the responses. i have decided to see if i can change cabins. dcl shows no more rooms in our catagory but we'll see what happens. hopefully our ta can do something. send pixie dust my way......
