We decided to splurge on our upcoming cruise, and upgraded to concierge. Of all the amenities, I am most excited to know that we might actually be able to get to reserve a cabana. For this who have reserved the cabanas, are they really as wonderful as they sound, or am I just drinking the pixie dusted Kool-Aid? TIA!

Hoping the answer is "Wonderful"! We are taking our first family cruise, leaving 5/26 and have Cabana 5 booked for Castaway. I am so excited and am hoping for a magical experience! We are sailing Concierge as well!

It was nice having one for my dad who was a month or so away from having hip replacement surgery, but IMHO it wasn't all that.

I think they get hyped here a lot so I hope that people going in don't think they are more magical than they are. We enjoyed them when we have gotten them but they are what they appear to be -- a private little shack on a beach. We loved having comfortable seating, shade, privacy, a quiet beach, etc. For us the best part was having a refrigerator - it's great to have a cold face cloths after you come in from the sun or chilled fruit, etc. We have very little interaction with the Cabana Host while we are out there so can't speak to them making it any more magical. What I wish they had was a way to text or call in your drink order and have the bar servers magically appear with them. Seems like an extra step to call to ask for a bar server for them to come to the Cabana to get the drink order and go back to get the drinks. (Unless this is something they recently updated? She asks hopefully??)

We enjoyed a cabana on one of our cruises, but we have had a great time on the island without one also.

Had twice. Paid for it once and the other time a family member did. Not at all worth the price. Not like pool parties in Las Vegas where a cabana is a must. Having a fridge is nice and shade but not worth the premium. They have dr ink service on the beach. I am not one that thinks for a second that the crew members are there for friendship. So having an attendant really is not worth it to me.

We LOVED the cabanas and got them for two of our last three cruises. We did concierge as well so it was simple to get our reservation in. On our last cruise we figured we would skip it and see what spending the day exploring the island was like. We did everything that we could do and did have fun but I think that we enjoyed having a home base to keep our stuff and return to knowing we could quietly relax more. I think the cabanas has gone back on our must do reservation when we get back into a cruising mood.

We got a Cabana on our last cruise in December. Not many people were swimming. We really enjoyed being able to have the shelter and still see the sea. It was an awesome experience. DH has requested we get a Cabana this next cruise also.

We got a cabana on our second cruise. It was quite nice having it. We enjoyed the facilities that came along with it. It was very expensive. Personally I don't think I would do it again but DH thinks otherwise.

Do it! They took two from the waiting list on your last Dream cruise we got off of today.

They are great! Mainly from the standpoint that you don't have to do a 1 mile sprint from the ship to the beach to get front row seating. Also it's nice to be able to have your own space and not worry about people stealing your stuff.

Realistically, except for the stuff you put in the safe in the cabana, items just left lying about (with you not in attendance) are still subject to "disappearing".

We loved it. We are not beach people so it was great to not get sand in everything and have shade and a place for drinks. The kids had the water all to themselves at times

And realistically how much theft has anyone heard of on Castaway??

We've gotten a cabana on all 3 of our cruises. I'm hoping to book a double dip cruise on Wednesday, and I plan to get a cabana both of those days. I love everything about having one! For me, the private feel of the extra beach space, having room to spread out all our stuff, guaranteed chairs and umbrellas, a fridge, shade, floats and sand toys and sunscreen on hand, etc etc all make it worth the extra expense for our family. I use my Disney Visa rewards money to pay for the cabana, so I feel like I'm getting it "free" ;)

What is the current pricing for a Cabana (party of 7) on the Family Beach may I ask?
