Good morning,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the difference (other than price/size/capacity) was between Serenity Bay Cabana #B (Grand Cabana) and the standard Serenity Bay Cabanas?

Put in a request for one and the only availability was the Grand. Trying to decide if it is worth it.

Thanks!
Jason

I was looking and all I could find was general videos and videos of the outside of them. I'm more interested if there is any differences in the services or amenities to warrant the price. Right now it's hard to justify without enough people to get almost to capacity.

What looks good to me about the LC cabana versus Castaway, is on LC you have an iPad on the wall to control music and order food and drinks to be delivered. On castaway you just have a bell. I always feel guilty ‘summoning’ someone. Might be hard to beat the view at Castaway though. I always get #22. When do you need to make a final decision? I would take it for now. You can always release it. I will be in Cabana C in a couple of weeks, can take pics for you.

In terms of service and amenities I don’t believe there is any difference. The Grand Cabana simply is designed for a larger group, thus the higher price.

Not first hand knowledge(yet!), but from surfing around the various internet spots it seems to be the consensus that the family available cabanas at LP are the furthest away from the action, have rocky underfoot entry to the water, have rougher surf, and do not have loungers beachside Which is disappointing - esp if have younger kids.
I'm not sure why they did it that way, except maybe for space? Seems it should be the softer sand and easy acess to kids splash areas for families.

We have a cruise coming up next summer, and I think if I try for a cabana, it will be a lower number one on CC, and just go early for a good spot on LP. But I'll keep watching the forums for more people's first hand knowledge

Thanks, but I think we might be there at around the same time. :)

Our cruise is over a weekend in about three weeks. We've had a cabana on CC at Serenity before. Those are pretty bare bones, but that's not a complaint. It's more than enough for what it is.

I requested a cabana at LP a month or so ago, right about when the information was coming out. So I didn't give any specifics. No reply until a few days ago, so I had assumed all the cabanas had been grabbed up.

There's only two of us for the cruise, so it's hard to justify the space... but on the other hand, there might not be another opportunity to get one. There's so few of them that even in concierge it seems like they will be hard to snag.

You're allowed to cancel up until three days before sailing, I will probably push it all the way to the edge before deciding.

I don't know anything about the family beach cabanas at CC, we've only gotten the Serenity ones. The breach there can be rocky at times and the water rougher, but still worth it.

Last cruise we had one of the first ones, which made walking back and forth a lot easier. I did spend a lot of time sleeping in the hammock... which might be a waste of the money. :)

close, I believe I will be getting off the Magic right before you board lol.. we are on the weekdays.

I did do some research and found 3 YouTube videos that talk about the larger sized cabanas, two appear to be Cabana A at Serenity Bay and one is a larger family cabana.

Besides being bigger, interestingly enough the larger sized cabanas have their own sink. A sink is NOT in the smaller sized ones. sinks can be useful. The larger ones have an actual inside dining room style table.. which I guess can be good?

but yes, seems to be a lot for just two people.

Normally I would be against a 3 Day cruise because of how much time / effort it takes to get on board, get settled, etc... but this one fit perfectly with our schedule. We also needed one more cruise to bump us up to Plat. So it just makes sense.

Which makes it hard to rationalize a cabana that costs a third of the whole fare.

Still, we may never get another chance, so I might just keep it.

If we do it, I will make sure to come back around and post some pictures and comments. :)
