I'm looking into possibly getting cabana at Aquatica for July. Is it worth the money? Also there seems to be a few different types. Which one is the best location? I,don't want to be secluded from everything. Thanks dde04

We were there in June. I sunburn very easily, and was able to find plenty of chairs with shade. So if you're just getting it for the shade, I'd wait and see when you get there.

On the other hand, if you have a large group, especially with babies, it works out really nicely to have a quiet place to park the stroller, and they can catch a nap.

I think the Aquatica cabanas are an excellent value.

That said, at some times of the year they are better value than others, as their prices are season-dependent (meaning you'll pay more in July than you will in May or September). When is your visit planned for? We have paid as much as $89.99 and as little as $30 for a cabana rental.....the latter of which was an absolute steal.

The cabanas include 12 bottles of Dasani water, 8 rental towels, and a large locker (located right inside your cabana :thumbsup2). They are located in separate areas of the park that are staffed by Aquatica team members, and only those wearing cabana wristbands are admitted. Your cabana rental will also entitle you to 20% merchandise at the gift shop, as well as the photos taken by the park photographers. We were also given the opportunity to book a second rental within the following 7-day period at 50% off.

Personally, I would not pay extra for the pool view or premium cabanas. The "standard" model was perfect as it was (and the most cost effective), and were located in the exact same area as the more expensive cabana classes (ie, the "pool view" which bordered the wave pool). Loved that the sides tied shut and we could change inside (meaning we didn't need to use the change rooms) and enjoy an afternoon nap completely out of the sun. There is a ceiling fan in each cabana as well, which helps a ton on the hot and sticky days.

I post some pics for you, which might help :) .

Thank you Gina. We are going July 6. Right now it says cabana are $199 for standard( all of July) that's pretty steep which I'm wondering if it is really that worth it. For $89 I'd def do it...but $199 is a different story.

Yes, July is prime time, so they would be pricier than our visit in August (we also brought ours down by 10%....from an original price of $99 for the day....with our annual pass discount). In comparison to the Disney waterpark cabanas (at $320 :scared1:), the Aquatica ones are still a "reasonable" deal. And in the heat of July, they would be a godsend when you need a break from the sun. But I can definitely see where it can be budget breaker.

The Roas loungers are $49....is that a good location?

The loungers are located adjacent to Roa's Rapids. They don't come with a locker or towel rentals that I know of, plus no fridge, ceiling fan, etc. If you get there early, you can lay claim to one of the many free loungers with umbrellas and save yourself the $49. Take a look:

Thanks you so much Gina. The free chairs under the big umbrellas seems perfect!

Ok I'm back :)

I went ahead and splurged on a standard cabana for this Friday. The heat and crowds convinced my husband.
One question, should a splurge a little more($50) for the wave pool cabanas? It's me and my husband and my 9 year old daughter. I don't want to be sooooooo far that its a hike to get to the cabanas. I have no ideas where the standard cabanas are as we have never been there.

Thanks for your help!

Thinking about next year and doing a full Sea World package. I would love these cabanas(red head from the north). Because of unpredictable summer storms in florida, do they give a refund if a storm comes quickly and you have to leave before there is a chance to even enjoy a cabana?:beach:

The standard cabanas are located in the same area as the wave pool cabanas (or at least our three have been). The standard cabanas border dense foliage to their rear and face the walkway. Across the concrete pathway are the wave pool cabanas that border the wave pool. But all in the same area (Uluwatu) and no further of a walk than the wave pool cabanas.

In fact, we were GLAD we didn't upgrade (because we thought about it before our trip, too) because we liked the wonderful privacy of the standard cabanas much more than those located right on the wave pool. You will still be able to hear the shrieking of the folks in the wave pool from your standard cabana, it will just be a little less loud :rotfl: .

Not 100% certain, but I believe they only give a refund (or reschedule) in the event of a park closure due to a hurricane or tropical storm. If the rides close for a passing normal thunderstorm, they will expect you to ride it out and wait to resume your day after the lightning passes. If it just raining (no lightning), generally the park and the slides stay open for guests to enjoy.

We rented a Cabana a few years ago. It was well worth the money. Back then, we were able to get soft drinks as well as water. Does anyone know if that's the same deal, or are you only allowed water with the Cabana rentals?:beach:

Are there free lounge chairs with umbrellas at the park, or do all of them require payment?

Can anybody answer about the availability of free lounge chairs with umbrellas? I have no problem getting there right when they open if availability is limited. I don't want to pay for lounge chairs if there are free ones available for use.

The beach by the wave pools has tons of free lounge chairs, some with HUGE umbrellas. They are first come, first served, so if you get there at park opening, you should have no problem securing one.

I would show you a pic of the free loungers/umbrellas but apparently I have reached my bandwith limit for the month with Photobucket :headache: . It should reset again in a few days and I can then post some good photos.
