Hi, we will be styling at DLH next May/June and I would like to find out more about cabana rental please.
What are the time slots and cost? What's included & how far out should you book?
Also we have 6 days at DLH but will only get a 5 day ticket. We will arrive early on Thursday 29th May & I know there will be grad nights on whilst we are there. What would be the best day to use the cabana and have a non Disneyland day & avoid the crowds?

When you book your vacation, they will give you the number for vacation planning. You call 30 days prior/ There are full days and half days. A half day (930a-130p or 2p-6p) is $110, and a full is 10a-6p and $185. Max capacity of a cabana is 6 people.

I don't have any advice to give on which day will be most crowded at the parks. I can say that when we went for 6 days with a five day park hopper this summer, I chose the day in the middle as our DLH cabana day. The rationale was that we really need a break -- to sleep in and nap and relax by the pool -- most in the middle of our trip. When we first get there, everyone is too raring to go and get into the parks so would not have enjoyed lounging by the pool. And at the end of the trip we are wanting to make sure to ride the rides and see the shows we have missed so far. So the mid point was perfect for a cabana day. One last thing, do call at the 30 day mark to book on the day you want. The cabanas have become v popular (especially on weekends) and book up quickly.

What was included in the rate of the cabana rental?

Call as soon as you are at the 30 or 60 day window. There are only 6 cabanas and they book FAST!!!

Can you stay at the PPH and rent a cabana at the DLH? Thinking of possibly doing a pool day and DLH pool is amazing!

I have a question too - is there a minimum one must spend on food and drinks to rent the cabana's or is the fee all that you need to pay?

There is no minimum food or drink purchase needed in order to rent a cabana.

I'm pretty certain that pool hopping is not allowed at the resort hotels. You need a hotel key to get into the pool area.

It seems that the prices may have gone up a bit. When I called the other week to check, they said it was $124 for a half day (either 9:30-1:30 or 2:00-6:00) or $209 for a full day (9:30-6:00).

We are planning on a cabana day mid-trip, for the same reasons as above. We'd be too excited and full of energy in the beginning of the trip, and if we take a break mid-trip, we will be refreshed to wrap up the last couple of days.

Have fun!!

No. But if you are staying at a hotel with cabanas and they sell out at your hotel, they will let you book at the other hotel.

No, just the fee. And we leave a tip for the people who help out at the cabana. They come around, check on towels, bring extra towels, get things you might need.

We did enjoy the service from Trader Sam's.

We've stayed at DLH and rented at GCH and vise versa, staying at GCH and had a cabana at DLH. It was as long as we were staying onsite. Haven't ever stayed at Paradise Pier, but have rented at hotels I was not staying at, several times. As have a couple of friends, they have been staying at GCH and have rented cabanas at DLH.

A thread on this very topic has come up within the last 7 or 8 months(sorry, don't remember exactly when:(), and just like some of the PPs have stated, verified that they had rented cabanas at the DLH, when staying at the PPH, so it really can be done!:)

We're excited to try renting one this summer!::yes::

I thought I remembered a thread about this but couldn't find it in a search. It seems hit or miss. But if/when we book PPH I'm going to call DLH and inquire. Seems like fun!

How was the cabana at GCH? Which pool was the cabana by? We are thinking of getting one for our last day, which is a pool day, before going to San Diego. We are staying at GCH for the first time!

With only six cabanas and high demand during peak season (Sprint - Fall), the DLH should not be renting them out to people not staying at the DLH. Certainly not when the reservation window opens. I could see maybe opening it up a day in advance to outsiders, but someone staying at the hotel should certainly get preference over someone staying at PPH. I'm sure this opinion is unpopular to those looking to buy their way into the pool without staying there, but put yourself in the shoes of someone with a DLH reservation being told the cabanas are sold out. This is a poor policy that I bet most DLH visitors would not approve of if they were aware.

I'm very excited. I'd been thinking about a cabana for our non-park day and then read some replies on this thread and figured we wouldn't have a chance of getting one given we're past the reservation opening and wanted one for the last Saturday in June. I called the number given on the Disneyland web site and was surprised to learn we could book one for that Saturday afternoon.
