Cabana on check out day?

I have reserved Cabana #1 for the last day of our 5 day Universal trip. I planned 2 days at each park and then the last day for favorites and hang out at the pool and watch the Dive-in movie. We are staying at Portofino, but I booked the cabana at the Hard Rock.

My plan was to check out on Friday morning, store our suitcases with PBH, and go do the Character Breakfast at IOA. We will either do a tour of our favorite rides or head right for the pool, depending on how we feel. But here is my dilemma, we will need our swimsuits!! Should I pack them in our backpack for the day? Should I pack a bag and drop it off at the cabana (hate to leave our stuff out in the open?) Can I get to our suitcases? What should I do??

Maggie - I think your plan sounds great - we rented a cabana for our last day and it worked out great (especially since the weather wasn't very good and we had a dry place to hang out and eat a late lunch before our flight). I would feel safe leaving a backpack with just bathing suits in it - or even just leave the suits on the table - can't imagine someone stealing bathing suits, but you never know! I would call the fitness center at HRH and ask if they have lockers you could store your stuff in - I know you can use the fitness center to change/shower in if you are staying there and renting a cabana (maybe you have to be club level?)- worth the phone call - you would just have to make sure they open by the time you'd need to pass through on your way to breakfast - or you could leave the backpack in a locker at whichever park you go to. I wouldn't try to go all the way back to PBH to get into my suitcases - we had no problem closing up the cabana and changing right there - very private. We used cabana #1 on our arrival day - very close to the bar/restaurant and the bathrooms.

I know that at WDW hotels if you check your bags with bell services you are allowed access to them. You do need to have a bellman escort you back into the storage area and remain with you while you remove whatever it is you need.
