I was wondering what the current cost of a cabana rental on Castaway Cay and what the included perks are. We have booked concierge so I do have high hopes of being able to book one but I haven't been able to find what actually comes with the rental other than sodas and water. Thanks!!

On the family beach, the cost is $549 for the first 6 guests, and you can add more guests at $50 each up to a total of 10.
The Grand Cabana is $899 for the first 10 guests and you can add more up to a total of 16.
On Serenity Bay, the cost is $399 for the first 4 guests and you can add more for a total of 8 (I think, maybe 10).
VAT tax is added to any of the above costs. I believe it's 7.5%.

You get sodas and bottled water, fruit and snacks, suntan lotion, towels, floats, bike rental, and the family beach cabanas also include snorkel gear and sand toys. The cabana itself has a mini fridge, a safe, a private changing area, lounges and comfortable seating, a hammock and outside shower; on a private beach shared with the other cabanas. I believe you can add beverage packages if you choose.

Enjoy your cruise!

Thanks, I also saw something from 2012 where you could request a golf cart to take you from the cabana to the different main spots on the island, do you know if that is still something they do separate from the tram? Are there also chairs and umbrellas that can be used by the water on the cabana beach area?

Was there in December 2015 and my concierge did offer to take us in the golf cart back to the tram. I felt like if I had asked to go to other spots they would have said yes if it was possible. You can ring them whenever you need something, but response time will depend on what else is going on at the moment. We had number 4 and did have chairs on our section of beach. Can't remember if umbrellas were there but the back of the cabana was well shaded where the lounge chairs were.

Isn't it closer to $600 with taxes added? $590ish I believe? Or did that change?

Our final cost was $643 total for a family beach cabana a few weeks ago. Included is a bike rental for each person for one hour, snorkel equipment for each person, sand toys, floats, chairs, umbrella . Drinks, fruit and chips, cold towels, extra towels and a safe for valuables. Provides a quiet, peaceful place to relax, have lunch and enjoy an uncrowded beach and drinks service provided by the concierge crew. We enjoyed it a lot.

We had a cabana at least twice and it never lived up to the description. We couldn't get anyone to come when we rang the bell. We ended up chasing down a bar server walking down the beach to order drinks. We never had anyone check up on us during the day. At the end, we were the last ones out of the cabanas and we were ignored by the staff. The golf cart was there but we couldn't find anyone to drive us back to the boat or to the tram. We gave up and just walked back ourselves. The last cruise we booked on the adult beach but ended up giving it to friends.

Last June, my family booked the HA cabana (#1) and for what it cost us, I was also disappointed in the service. When we checked in, the 2 people at the check in booth seemed completely uninterested in us. We were basically waved aside and were given verbal directions on where to find the cabana. Dad had a scooter, so we were told we couldn't be driven there. I understand this, but an escort would've been nice. Then a storm rolled in, completely washing out the day, and by lunch time, a CM arrived to tell us they would give us a 50% discount. It was wet and miserable, the beach was unusable, and we were basically huddled inside to keep dry. My parents loved the privacy and the space, which made me more upset that the weather ruined the day. We never saw another CM; I think they should have just refunded the cost and closed them down. Or at the least check in with us often with fresh and dry towels, water, and snacks. Any added gratuity was ridiculous for almost no service.

When I go again with my parents, I would book again for everything but the service. Otherwise, for young and able bodied adults, I didn't find it worth the price.

My family got a cart from the ship to the cabana and when my DD forgot her inhaler, a cart took her and DH back to the ship. When we left for the day, a cart took us as far as the last tram stop and told us we had to get out there. :confused3. If you ask the concierge for the cart to take you where you want to go, I doubt they'd say no.
And yes, there are chairs and umbrellas by the water. More than plenty. :beach:

I love the cool towels in the fridge too........

The best way to spend the day at CC for us is in a cabana just relaxing and enjoying the views and the hammock and a konk cooler or 2 :cloud9:

Cabana:
Bowl of potato chips, energy bars, fresh fruit
Stocked fridge with cold drinks and water
Electric wall plugs (for example, plug in to recharge your electronics)
Suntan lotion
Private hammock
Personal float tubes
Snorkeling equipment rental
Bike rental included
Nearby shower (right outside)
Magazines
Facial tissue
Trashcan
Hanging closet
Cocktail table, sofa, two chairs inside
Call button for attendant
Overhead fan
Privacy curtains over windows
Plates
Private beach in family cabanas
There is a safe in them, just as in your onboard cabin.
You can eat lunch there (table and chairs). Your host might give you a ride to/from the buffet.
There is a changing curtain for get into/out of swimwear
A drink host will come and take your order for alcoholic drinks and bring them to you.
They provide a plate of cold, wet towels. Great for cleaning/cooling off.
Lot of chairs inside and out (on the porch) for relaxing
Once at the end of the day, our host took us from our cabana to the ship's reboarding point in his golfcart. Wow!

Pretty close to my experience.

Only reason we saw the host was because our safe didn't work. And even after the maintenance guy came to fix it it wasn't fixed. And they wouldn't listen to me about it.

A structure to be shelter for us is pretty much what it was. That's not worth the cost. And we had ours just before the vat was enacted.

MY fave way of dealing with castaway is to have some *included with the cruise fare* loungers, an umbrella with attached table, my OWN sunscreen that I know works for me and won't cause asthma (any aerosol sunscreen), and won't cause am allergic reaction, have the waters I brought from the concierge lounge (if I booked that level) or brought onboard or bought in a package, not bother with snacks because chips while on castaway was a gross idea for me, etc.

I was definitely not a cabana fan.

Wow- I feel bad about these poor reviews. Our cabana experience was exactly the opposite! We had staff checking on us even when we didn't press the call button. They happily drove us to the shopping area and back, and drove us to and from the tram stop in the golf cart. We felt completely catered to and it was the most relaxing and pleasant day. We'd happily do it again, if we can swing it.

Looks like everyone has chimed in on cost and what is included, but I wanted to say our experience was wonderful!
Yes, the call button could have worked better (with someone returning the call) but it will be hard for us to go again without a cabana!
Very worth it to us!!!
