Cabana Bay vs Pop

I thought it would fun to do a comparison on Cabana Bay vs Pop.

I recently stayed at both and they are both Value hotels and similar themeing.

I will break down it into each category and choose a winner and have pics from my recent trips in both. I hope you enjoy.

I'm as Disney as they come,but Cabana blows away the WDW Values-JMHO.

I saw a couple of sentences on your comparison post that I was hoping you could answer for me since we will be at POP in 19 days

"They also send out an email about your preference which they were able to accommodate."
Is this like a confirmation about your preferences prior to your room being assigned or was this your room assignment email (I think I set mine up as text)?
"I choose first floor and near buses."
Would you share your room assignment. This is what I have chosen too so I was wondering where it "may" get us (of course, if they can accommodate our requests)

1st question: It was an email that had what preference you would like that they send out to me around the same time I got the magic bands. It asked about floor preference and what you would like to be close too.

2nd question: We stayed at 80s building on the side of the parking lot. It was great you cut across the parking and it was the shortest route to the bus stop without having to pay for upgrade.

Wow, I have never seen that email. I got my magic bands last week but no email. They must be trialing something randomly.

We have stayed at both and I really loved Cabana Bay. I really liked the pools, in particular. The food court was good, the bus service to Universal was great, the bowling alley looked amazing, but we didn't have time to use it.

Definitely.

But Cabana just has so many "extras" that Disney "reserves" for their Mods and Luxes only.

I'm a Disney girl forever but Cabana Bay is far superior to Disney values. We always stay at ASMo and really like it but Cabana Bay offers so much more. I loved the fact that I could get a starbucks coffee before going to the park. The lazy river and pools were awesome. The room was bigger. There is so much more to do at the resort that even a Deluxe at Disney. Plus everything is fairly new.

We have stayed at 2 Universal resorts, HRH & Portofino. Had great housekeeping, and universal deluxe is way more deluxe than WDW deluxe. Seems the same with Cabana Bay. I wouldn't mind staying there except it doesn't get FOTL pass.
Their new moderate being built is prob like WDW deluxe category.

With the housekeeping at Cabana Bay it was not bad, but it was not as Disney. Disney we got little animal towels and dropped off a b-day card. So they just went the extra mile while Cabana Bay did everything there suppose to do but did nothing above that like Disney did.
Yeah, it would be nice to have the express passes, but if you go in the off season it was not needed.Getting in early helped avoid all the lines
