Cabana Bay Questions

Hey

At Cabana bay, can you make room requests like at Disney or a particular view? Do they do in room requests prior to arrival or if i was to contact and say we are celebrating an engagement for example, are they likely to do something extra. Have they been known to offer free upgrades in occasion?

It's not something i expect at all but just curious because i know from my previous Disney stays that they do these 'extra touches' to make thing special.

I know you can have them note on your reservation any requests or celebrations. As with Disney, there is no guarantee for any extras or upgrades, but at the least you'll probably get a congrats from the check in person or what have you (IDK for sure, I haven't gone to celebrate anything other than getting away from home)

Upgrades all depend upon availability, so it makes a difference when you will be there. I've heard of lots of upgrades and special treatment.

For no particular reason, and without asking for it, we received a free upgrade from a standard room to a suite in March.

Would love it if that happened to me. We booked standard with a third party through my TA and then a few months later I found a post here about a better deal in Canadian $ which would have saved me quite a bit or given me the suite at the same price I paid. No such luck switching as I was booked in no cancellation on the reservation.

Based on "Staying Universal"'s site, it looks like in-room gifts are not offered at Cabana Bay or Sapphire Falls. There is pricing information listed for Hard Rock, Royal Pacific and Portofino but not for the other two.
