Cabana at water park?

Has anyone rented one of these lately? I called for information. I was told only a party of 6 could rent, but I have read that you can add extra people for $25 each? Is this true? CM didn't seem to know about this.
Also, we have a party of 11. Could we rent a cabana and a beach umbrella/table? Would those be in the same area or are they in different places in the park? CM didn't seem to know this either.
No way we can pay for two cabanas they are so expensive! Yikes!:scared1:

We rented a cabana at TL last May. Absolutely worth it. Totally covered roof as we required that. Waters, locker right in cabana, towels and refillable mugs. You can add extra people but I think you can only do this at TL when you check in. Great place to rest and keep shaded. You don't have to rush and stake out a spot in the morning, and no one moves your stuff. Loved it!

Thanks everyone for all the information! I think I'm going to reserve a cabana and an umbrella for our party of 11, and request that they be in the same area and hope for the best.:) We'll try to get to Typhoon Lagoon early, so maybe we'll have a better chance??? I hope!:goodvibes

I think that's a great plan! And yes, I think the earlier you get there the more likely it is that they can accommodate you. They won't take location requests over the phone (you are calling a center booking number, not the park directly) but if you get there early, they can probably rearrange parties if necessary to get you all close together. Enjoy!!!!

We rented a beachcomber shack at TL near Castaway Creek last summer, and I'm pretty sure there were umbrella rentals right next to us. Sort of in the 8:00 position on this map:

Yes. If you look at the big oval area just to the left of the group of shacks, that is where the umbrella chairs are. There is one that is really close. The others are pretty close, but not good for visiting.

We booked the lounge chairs and umbrella one time and cancelled once we arrived. They are in an area that didn't give us any view of where we needed to be with our children..

Add our family to the list of those that think the cabanas are worth it. They are pricey, but having a nice shaded area with a locker, water, and an attendant is fantastic. I love the Disney water parks, but I don't enjoy having to fight the crowds to stake out a spot and continue to "guard" the area. Additionally, I know it is minor, but having the locker in your cabana is a great convenience as well.

Ordering food and drinks from the attendant is also very nice.

It has really changed my attitude toward water parks, which I could take or leave before trying the cabana.

One more thing, I agree with others that have said the cabanas at TL are better than BB in terms of space, view, and shade in our opinion. This is where we will visit next time. Just my 2 cents.

I reserved a beachcomber shack today and an umbrella. The CM told me she was noting on each reservation that we were booking one of each so that they would be assigned near each other. The price was $345 (tax included) for the cabana for 6 people in mid-August and I was told up to ten people could be there but it would be $25 each additional person over six. The umbrella was $58 (tax included) for 4 people. So for our party of 11 it is cheaper to book one cabana and one umbrella and add one person to the cabana later, than it was to book the cabana and add 4 people later (which still leaves us one person short anyway).
I asked about annual pass discounts or AAA discounts and was told there are NO discounts. Oh well. :sad2:
I did pay with gift cards purchased at Target so at least I'm saving the 5%. Every little bit helps!:)
Thanks for so many helpful replies! I really appreciate all the help and advice!:goodvibes

How ridiculous would it be to book a cabana for only two people? The perks of having one seems like it will make for a less stressful day at the water parks.

My sister booked one on her honeymoon for just her and her hubby as he's big into water parks and she's big into reading and having some shade. They really enjoyed it and thought it was worth the money for them. YMMV

How far in advance can you reserve the Cabana?

How do you/who do you call to reserve one?

Is payment required at time of reservation?
