Hi all!
Need a little help from the experts. Leaving Sunday for Saratoga Springs, need to purchase beer for the vacation and really don't want to pay Disney prices. Is it possible to grab a cab from SSR to the nearest Winn-Dixie or the Hess Station at DTD, and does anyone have an idea of approx fare? Also how willing are the drivers to wait while the meter is running? Really appreciate any help you folks can provide. Have a great day!

You won't have any problem finding a taxi to the nearing brew stop. Drivers don't mind waiting with the meter running. There is a Hess down the street from Saratoga.

To the Hess, with waiting and return, maybe $14.00 to $18.00.

Which means you don't even need a taxi - just take the bus or ferry from Saratoga Springs, walk to Hess, and voila! (It's across the street from the DTD bus stop; in fact, if you take the bus you should go right by it).

Edd!
Being a little slow on the upbeat, can you tell me where you bumped the thread to. Thanks, Deadhead

Nowhere - by bumping a thread, aka adding a post to it to keep it on the first page of a forum, that's what Edd's 'bump' did - kept this thread where a lot of people are likely to see it (although you're not likely to get too many different answers).
For specific approximate (intentional oxymoron) taxi fare to a supermarket or liquor store, you'd need the starting address, the store's address, and the link to Mears' taxi fare estimator in the "Popular Transportation Links" sticky near the top of the list of threads on this board.
